Was listening to this in a long non-lucid dream this morning (the one before last). Also, tried to force my dad to listen to it (in the dream) but was interrupted...

Very sad news over the weekend as Agalloch, one of if not my all time favourite band, has disbanded after more than 20 years. I've been listening to them a lot recently, and I find myself drawn back now to the very first Agalloch song I heard 3 years ago. The intro captivated me from the very first note and when the whole band kicked in my mind was blown. The band leader has stated that he may continue Agalloch on as a solo project or with new members, but safe to say there will be no more Agalloch. Thanks for the music and the memories.
To some people, music is the best form of Mnemonic Device.
I am one of those people.
This song reminds me of school.
Of certain people, a certain basement, of a very specific time in my life.
And after soooo long, I look it up on a whim, and find myself singing it word for word. As if no time had passed at all... Just like the singsong multiplication tables I learned in the fourth grade (even though I've always hated math), just like riding a bike...
The words stick in my mind like glue whether I like it or not.
In this case I'm grateful because I'm sure I didn't appreciate the words enough at the time, but I think I do now.
Better anyway.

This is by the same band that made that Marble Machine song, if you've seen that one.
My brother playing on his guitar. "Sultans of Swing" ;)
One of my jams I use for lucid-spiration. "Champions of the Night" sounds like a good term for lucid dreamers.
