I don't think it lived up to the hype...it was extremely well acted, the cinematography was great. Seemed a little slow to me though.

I had heard that it may be slow, but I found it to go at the right pace for me...it allowed time to see how feelings grew between all of the characters, and how they got closer together or further apart.

Was pretty heartwrenching stuff mind you!

I haven't seen this yet, but based on the comments above, I theorize that this movie may be more appropriate for females.

I found the movie trite and tired, good photography and screen play, but it is very predictable and is just any normal love story with the added gay touch to hip it up. But everyone is entitled to their opinion

After having seen it and being able to judge for myself I realised that it was neither gay nor straight, but simply about two people who discovered that they were soulmates...thing is they happened to be men. It was more about that than the fact that they were guys.

Just that when it was set meant that they couldn't be open about it at all so it made it all look worse than it was and ended up tearing them to pieces. Muchly a shame. But much more to do with true love than straight or gay. Tis just my opinion on it though!

There's actually more hetrosexual sex in this movie then there is homosexual, so this movie isn't limited to females and gay men (my bf actually liked this movie, gave it a 3.5/5),

All straight men have to worry about is the occasional male to male contact, an intense 20 second scene in a tent, and some kissing sprinkled here and there. If you can deal with that, go see this movie straight men! Make your gf happy.

My friend and I made jokes about this movie plenty before it came out, but I brought up the idea that we should take a look, plus it had good ratings, and I liked Ang Lee's work. It was slow-paced, as baker said, but still interesting throughout. To see the dynamics of a homo relationship and just how socially detrimental it is only increased my sympathy. So it was overall a productive movie, imo.

Yeah, so, first off don't a single one of you complain about my bumping this thread because I always see people saying 'you coulda done a search for that...'

Anyway, so I finally saw this movie. All I really knew going into it was it had two cowboys in a relationship and the constant streams of jokes about the movie at my school were finally starting to slow. I was hoping that all the stuff at my school wouldn't ruin this movie, as it did 300 by way over hyping it, and it didn't.

Overall I enjoyed the movie, I thought it was great movie and honestly I didn't expect that sort of ending. I guess all the 'happy endings' I've seen in movies have dulled me a bit, but I just really didn't see that one coming. It suited the movie. It's not the sort of movie I would really feel the urge to watch twice, though in fairness very few are, but if someone asked if it was any good I'd certainly recommend it.

I enjoyed this movie. I'll never watch it beginning to end again, though, it's just too depressing. I have been known to uhhh watch a few selected parts though.

I thought it was a great movie, didnt think they would go into so much detail in the movie though. But I almost started tearing up when that one dude died and then in the end when he hangs on to his shirt. Lucky for me I havent cried in over a decade, wouldve felt weird if I had cried because of a movie.

Yeah me too, only my date was sitting next to me dry eyed. T'would have been an embarassment if I burst into tears. Some man I am.

I get all heavy hearted at movies often, and my throat hurts. Even kid's ones.

The end of Rain Man is the worst, though.
