I don't think it lived up to the hype...it was extremely well acted, the cinematography was great. Seemed a little slow to me though. |

I did a search and was surprised not to see a thread on this film! |

I had heard that it may be slow, but I found it to go at the right pace for me...it allowed time to see how feelings grew between all of the characters, and how they got closer together or further apart. |

I haven't seen this yet, but based on the comments above, I theorize that this movie may be more appropriate for females. |

I found the movie trite and tired, good photography and screen play, but it is very predictable and is just any normal love story with the added gay touch to hip it up. But everyone is entitled to their opinion |

Here and there...
After having seen it and being able to judge for myself I realised that it was neither gay nor straight, but simply about two people who discovered that they were soulmates...thing is they happened to be men. It was more about that than the fact that they were guys. |

It's not just for females or gay men, anyone can learn from it. |

Stop the Hate
There's actually more hetrosexual sex in this movie then there is homosexual, so this movie isn't limited to females and gay men (my bf actually liked this movie, gave it a 3.5/5), |

My friend and I made jokes about this movie plenty before it came out, but I brought up the idea that we should take a look, plus it had good ratings, and I liked Ang Lee's work. It was slow-paced, as baker said, but still interesting throughout. To see the dynamics of a homo relationship and just how socially detrimental it is only increased my sympathy. So it was overall a productive movie, imo. |

Yeah, so, first off don't a single one of you complain about my bumping this thread because I always see people saying 'you coulda done a search for that...' |

I enjoyed this movie. I'll never watch it beginning to end again, though, it's just too depressing. I have been known to uhhh watch a few selected parts though. |

I thought it was a great movie, didnt think they would go into so much detail in the movie though. But I almost started tearing up when that one dude died and then in the end when he hangs on to his shirt. Lucky for me I havent cried in over a decade, wouldve felt weird if I had cried because of a movie. |
|
Personally I thought it was over rated. I didn't hate it but at the end I was left thinking " is that it?" |

Another movie that almost got me was Armageddon, man Bruce Willis is like one of the best actors of all time. Actually another one was Philidelphia, Tom Hanks is however the best actor of all time. Alot of people say they teared up big time on Titanic, but to be honest when I watched it, and Leo died, I just started laughing. The only thing I could think was, man they couldnt like take turns on the door, maybe that wouldve saved him. Or man that was a pretty big ass door, it couldnt fit his skinny ass on there too? I just dont see Leo being that good of an actor, though I did like him in Gangs of New York, but even with the mad look and facial hair, he still has that cute little baby face that you cant help but laugh at when he tries to be real serious. |
