No NIN, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Disturbed and Nickelback are very awesome!!!! idk on my mind came one band that I like kind of with female vocalist.... One Eyed Doll |

I thought this was as good a place to ask as any. Lately I've been on a quest for some good music with female front or male/female duo. I've been listening to some Skillet, Lacuna Coil, Flyleaf, Halestorm... I used to like Evanescence back in the day, think I'll give it another chance. Paramore is okay but not quite the sound I'm going for. Looking for something kind of hard rock or metal-ish but no screaming. |

If you like NiN you may like the first two here, since Trent Reznor wrote them (I think): |

For hard 90's grunge rock I always liked Hammerbox: |
|
And for more of a hard alternative/rock sort of thing Belly is one of my favorites: |

(Any mod feel free to combine these 3 posts) |

If you like some "harder" stuff, you could try Theatre of Tragedy, although they have changed their style from a Dark-Gothic in the beginnings to some Electro etc |
|
There's Nightwish too, although they have changed the vocalist. |
|
Perhaps Arch Enemy in small doses? Although no screaming... |

These are pretty well-known, though I had all but forgotten about them till this thread stirred the memories of great 90's music once again - |

And the greatest song and video of all time Vow by Garbage |

Wow, there are a lot more replies in here than I expected, thanks for the suggestions everyone |

Wow Darkmatters you're on a roll, lol I was posting and didn't see your latest replies. I actually did give Evanescence another chance after I mentioned it, I was listening to some stuff off the newer self-titled album and it's pretty good. I was having this conversation last night with a friend and she mentioned Veruca Salt and Garbage, I'm not big fans of those for some reason although to give credit where it's due, Veruca Salt song you suggested is 10x better than the one my friend did (I don't remember which one it was). |

A couple more 90's bands I had forgotten about |
|
Lush - not hard rock at all, more like trippy atmospheric stuff |
|
And in the same kind of vein, Boxviolet |
|
Lol ok, I'll stop monopolizing this thread now, but here's a song I fell in love with as soon as I heard it - the opening theme from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. It's called Aeria Gloris by Yoko Kanno. If you like Evanescence.. |

Another one of my favorites is Therion: |

With the time Tristania gave more place to the female vocals than in their beginning... |
