      eXistenZ anyone?

Not sure if anyone has seen this film, but I saw it today, and while I knew Inception had borrowed certain aspects from other films... I didn't know just how much it DID!

It's a 1999 film starring Jude Law... it came out shortly after The Matrix, and apparently wasn't in theatres in the US, only Canada and the UK... which would explain why I hadn't heard of it before now.

Thoughts on it (if you've seen it?) If not, I really enjoyed it, so I recommend it.

If you're interested in eXistenZ then you should check out some other Cronenberg films, in particular probably Videodrome, Naked Lunch (based on the Burroughs story of the same name) and Crash (not the blockbuster hit - it's based on a JG Ballard novel). He also did The Fly starring Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis, probably his most well-known film. But for similar reality-bending stuff, Videodrome is probably his best.

My professor said Videodrome and Dead Ringers she recommended, so I'm going to probably check those out! I really love reality-bending films and books!

Oh yeah, I haven't seen Dead Ringers - forgot about that one. Thanks, I might need to check it out.

I definitely have to watch it again to fully grasp what I saw; I watched it in my Film and Culture class today, but I'll probably get it from the library to re-watch it before I write my essay.
