I'm very disappointed in the beta so far, and I'm probably not going to purchase the full game, unless they make some massive changes. |

Playing on the console is not the same as on pc. It feels more like a mix of call of duty and halo or something, very action-paced .But this time in battlefield style No more running around for 10 minutes trying to find an enemy. And even tho there's less players (I do quick games and it's about 12vs12 i don't think you can have more players) you hardly notice because spawntime is quick and enemies just keep on coming. |

Have you played caspian yet? |
|
Yeah I'm getting Battlefield 3 |
|
Beta ended, got to say I loved caspian border, can't wait for the full game. I'll have to pop another 6870 to CF them for ultra settings tho |

Dunno why, but I couldn't run it very well on any settings. That's on a HD 5870 (1gb version) and a phenom x4 @ 3.2ghz (haven't OC'd since this is an unlocked 555BE running on a stock cooler) First tried everything low at 2560x1600. Nope. Won't run. Then 1280x800 (just because it's second native) all low. Still won't run properly. Something around 30FPS. |

I doubt your CPU would bottleneck at @3.2hghz, a driver update would prob help; also I'm fairly certain quality/performance will increase with the retail version of teh game. |

Most performance issues are related to outdated drivers. Just update your graphics driver. |

Was on 11.8, but yeah, a bit late for that now. Beta over. |

I actually enjoyed operation metro on console. I had a lot of fun on that map even if it had no vehicles. The only problem is, I'm not sure if I should be getting it on PC or console now. |
|
Nope, no chance EA shut everything down. Speaking as an elitist PC asshole I'm going to have to go with PC, console version only has 24 players >.< |

I played bf3 open beta for like 30 minutes. I was totally excited to go play some more yesterday when i found it beta ended. |

If the only downside in your consideration to the PC version is the control scheme, I recommend getting the PC version. Just because it's a battlefield and ultimately shines at large scale combat, not close quarters. The keyboard is not fantastic (neither is a controller though), but the mouse is a very nice thing for FPS games. But if you also have a computer that can't / can barely run it, then it's not worth it. |
|
You can just plug in a 360 controller, but then you'd get slaughtered because of the inaccuracy :3 |

Got it a few days ago and I've got to say I'm pretty impressed cause I got it for the ps3 but the best way to get the true BF experience is on PC, too bad I don't have one that can run it just yet. Even on console it looks and plays pretty good, the aiming feels different to COD but once you get used to it its all good. Graphics are good, campaign is ok so far, multiplayer is amazing, and overall it is a strong contender for FPS of the year IMO |

Current goal: Learning pyrokinesis and FUS RO DAH
Bought the game a few days ago. Its very well done. I think it could definitely be strong contender to the COD series. |

As much as everyone loves the mouse for first-person shooters on the PC, I've always thought of it as kind of cheap. There's really very little 'aiming' involved. Just point and click. I'm biased, though, of course (have never been a hardcore PC gamer), and it's not like I don't recognize that mouse-aiming is superior. It's just kind of...not like aiming a weapon. |

Meh, I guess it's just a matter of personal taste. Personally, I think the 'slightly awkward learning curve' of using a thumbstick makes it a bit more like shooting a gun - which is not easy to do, unless you've had ample practice. You really get the feel of 'over-correcting', like you do when holding a gun out in front of you. It may be kind of cumbersome (not without its faults), but I've always kind of thought it had a little more of a 'realistic' feeling to it, than a mouse. |

I wish I'd played the beta first, then I would have known not to buy it. |
