Anime/Manga Thread!

I'm almost done reading the whole Dragon Ball manga. (In finnish translation Dragon ball is books 1-16, and Dragonball Z is books 17-42) Currently i'm on book 41. I did check Bleach at the library though, but i'm not so interested in fighting. Any suggestions what should i read next?

It's dark and gritty as well as exciting and suspenseful. However, if you can't stomach gore then it may not be for you (though it's not SO bad IMO. Yandere). On the other hand, if you like battle shonen like dragon ball, read Katekyo Hitman Reborn! <-intentional exclamation mark. :3

I'm not sure what you typically like Toozul, but Yakitate Japan, Cromartie High School, and Beelzebub are very good comedy manga. If you want something with a little more drama, SaiKano is good too. I haven't heard of Mirai Nikki before, but I'm a big fan of psychological thrillers. I'll add that to my list of anime to watch, good suggestion Taffy and Intension.

1. Clannad: After Story extremely sad (I cried a lot) 2. One Piece it's just a generally good battle anime with emotion 3. Mirai Nikki great in both manga and anime

Code Geass Death Note Zegapain Purely because of the 'mind' aspect. But I like action interwoven with that too. Hellsing: Ultimate Gantz (manga) For gore. Samurai Champloo Cowboy Beebop Smooth, jazzy and cool. Trigun Classic. And I'm currently watching Higurashi.

He's not delusional! He knows exactly what he's doing! He is mad scientist, it's so COOL. Sonuvabitch. I'll jot down my favorites when I get home from school. Got finals today ;A; EDIT: Okay, so obviously Steins;Gate is amazing~ The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is one of my tops. ESPECIALLY the Endless Eight. I don't care what anyone says. Mushi-shi is about this guy who travels around solving problems that mushi are causing K-ON! is just "Adorableness: the Anime" Mushi-shi, K-ON!, and Redline (along with Haruhi Suzumiya) are so good that I bought the DVDs Don't get me wrong, I wasn't dissing Kyouma. Kyouma is an awesome, obnoxious, entertaining and corny character, and I think he's great. Definitely one of the best mad scientists I have ever seen. I loved Steins;Gate primarily because of Kyouma...well, maybe equally Kyouma and the plot, the developments were fascinating except for the last two episodes. Anime shows can never do the end justice. Mushi-shi was good too. Hellsing: Ultimate Gantz (manga) For gore. Samurai Champloo Cowboy Beebop Smooth, jazzy and cool. Trigun Classic. And I'm currently watching Higurashi. I never did finish Hellsing: Ultimate. Or the Hellsing manga. I tend to forget about a series if I can't download/purchase the entire series at once. I watched the first couple episodes years ago, but it took so long for each OVA to come out. I hope you like Higurashi, Wolfwood. It was one of my favorites about three years ago, and still has a special place in my heart. The second season isn't as thrilling as the first, but it's still very satisfying.

Yeah, I know you weren't dissing him :P But I liked the ending :o Also, if you like Higurashi, I recommend Umineko. It's the same universe, but instead of horror, it's more mystery. (And if you want the full experience, go read the sound novels~ They're brilliant~)

So does this mean I can find English patches to Higurashi visual novels? I tried finding patches a few years ago, but nothing was completed. I've always wanted to read them.

Bleach- Even though it's pretty mainstream, I've always loved the classic sci-fi battle/action scenes. Baka and Test- A shorter Anime, but I still liked it nonetheless. It made me wish my school was like that. Naruto- Classic, loved it since the old Toonami. Dragon Ball/Z- Need I say more? The World God Only Knows- Intresting Show. Comedic/I'm a bit like the main Character.

I've been watching the Boondocks reruns on TV, I'm really enjoying the series. I wish it hadn't taken me so long to start watching it. I assumed I wouldn't like the show because I didn't like the comic strip. I'm glad that the show didn't include many of the author's political views in it. It's a much stronger series this way. Granted, I was also young when I first encountered the Boondocks comic, and might not have cared or understood some of the comments made about politics.

At the moment I'm totally nuts for Young Justice! The animation quality is really really good for a standard western comic animation. It doesn't need much knowledge about the universe, but regularly introduces heroes and villains, the loyal reader is familiar with in a new light/story/origin. Right now its a season 2 with 20 something episodes Spoiler for Preview/trailer thingy: I've been also watching Naruto since the first episode,always up to date,now starting with the War Arc.

I'm playing the clannad visual novel right now (though I took a break for a bit). Heard it gets really sad at the end. Also, Katekyo Hitman Reborn was the first anime I've seen (in Japanese that is, or else it'd be pokemon/yugioh).
