Those of you who have been active in the DV chat may know about this. But for those of you who don't, let me elaborate.

Dream Radio is an internet radio station dedicated primarily to dreaming advice and other dreaming related things, and also to non-dreaming-related general banter. The inspiration for it came from a similar idea by Zebrah, and ShockWave coined the idea of a dreaming-related radio station, broadcasting 24/7.

We haven't yet begun full-time broadcasting, but we have been running a series of tests over the last 1-2 weeks. Even in the testing period, we have had a phenomenal response from the DV chat regulars, and also from people who have joined as guests on our test shows, two of which include Oneironaut and Slash112.

We've had a variety of DJs on the station, so we know that a lot of people would love the chance to come on-air. This brings me to the crux of this post. We've decided to open up the radio, to allow people to apply to become a DJ. The regulations for DJing can be found below, along with a few questions that you should answer if you're applying.

• If the topic of dreaming, or a related topic, arises during a general discussion, this should take prescedence unless there is good reason not to.
• Controversial topics, or topics that could be considered offensive, should be kept off air unless permission is given by a Dream Radio Producer.
• Shows should ideally be planned out beforehand, to an extent. For example, guest shows should still have a solid structure to them.
• The only people that are allowed on-air are Producers, DJs and Guests (authorized only by at least two Producers).
• All shows must be approved beforehand by at least two Producers.
• Laws regarding broadcasting rights apply on-air. Unless Dream Radio clearly has the right to broadcast something, it must stay off the air.
• While Dream Radio is being advertised on DV, all DV rules apply on-air. This includes not allowing banned members to become Guests or another position.
• These regulations may change at any time, and you agree to any future revisions of the regulations, or you must stand down as a DJ.

You must agree to, and abide by, these regulations if you wish to become a DJ. If you are applying, please answer the following questions. If not, any feedback is welcome.

To be approved as a DJ, all the current Producers must vote yes. Even if 10 Producers vote yes and 1 Producer votes no, the DJ will be rejected.

a personality, humor, information on Dreamview. I can be a scribe, a living database for the radio. I have all the time in the world, so being a DJ very often fits me well.

I have vast knowledge on Lucid Dreaming as a whole, but I haven't done much research on sleep or related things.

I'd like to apply for the position of assistant DJ, as I'd rather co-host/assist a more full time DJ when I can.

The radio is super cool idea and I'd like to contribute to both it and Dream Views as a whole. This seems like an entertaining way to do so.

I've not. I was interviewed by Kona a few days ago and have been in multiple Skype calls, though.

I know a lot about sleep, general dreaming, and lucid dreaming (especially sleep paralysis/REM atonia/WILDs). I also have a lot of books on vitamins, supplements, herbs, etc. which could come in handy for questions regarding the subject.

Information about dreaming, which is what this is all about, and a friendly personality that's open to discussing anything with anyone.

Updated the staff list in the original post to link to a page on the radio website. Right now it's just a plain web page, but it will later be updated to use the same style as the rest of the site.

In other news, welcome Luna and Kona to the team! They have both been approved as Assistant DJs on Dream Radio.

Dream Radio will be having it's first scheduled show tonight. Tune in at 5:30 AM GMT to listen to Table Talk with no-Name and Tara. The show will run for roughly 30 minutes and be a lot of fun. We might just break our record of 12 listeners tonight!

I'm amazed by this launching of a radio program for DV. Keep up the good work guys! I can definitely lend my support wherever it is needed. :)

I have some DJ experience, as far as spinning records at parties goes. I haven't really done the whole talk radio thing, though, outside of the other night's interview.

Because I'm awesome.

Also, way back in the day I had submitted an idea regarding beginning a DV Radio broadcast, but never had the means to put the wheels in motion. I would love to participate in such a project now that someone has been able to turn it into reality.

No, but I work in a call center and on a least a dozen occasions I've been told I have a 'radio voice.' Does that count? :P

Quite a decent amount.

In regards to my 'studies' on DV, I've been registered nearly 5 years. Active for almost 4 of those and served in the capacity of a Dream Guide for a large portion, if not a majority, of that time.

Outside of DV I've introduced a multitude of people to lucid dreaming, and others I've helped understand and give terminology to what they were experiencing.

Experience, Humour, Aspiration.

My experiences with not only Dreamviews, but lucid dreaming as a whole, give me strong experience on the subject. I often share what I can of my knowledge on the forums, and it should be easy and seamless to transfer that forum-text to radio-voice.

Also, my hair. Oh, and that awesome voice thing I apparently have.

Hmm, ShockWave and Zebrah would probably vouch for me. ;)

1. Why do I want to be a DJ?
Because when I was DJing last week, I enjoyed it a lot. And I know a lot of the listeners enjoyed me.

2. Experience:
None professional, but you have heard me, you know I am good. I think that that speaks for itself.

3. Knowledge:
I am stunted in terms of lucid dreaming (through no fault of my own, ask zebrah). But I understand most of the theory, etc.

4. Contributions:
Large musical knowledge, good musical tastes, funny, personable, knowledged in dreaming, have a couple idea to contribute as well.

5. People who can vouch for me:
All of the producers, as well as Kona and Luna.

I hope we can put my mistakes before behind us and start fresh :)

good stuff.

try leaving more room for intros at the beginning. you asked how they were doing today, and then simply jumped into the questions right away. let the audience know who they're talking to before you start.

be sure to either be in control of the interview, or have it be very conversational. you were fine for the first 30 minutes, but at some points you were rather meta and continued back to the questions very awkwardly. be sure to smooth out your speech and transitions while in conversation.

remember also, that when you make a joke, either have a way to lead out of it right away, or have it be insightful in some way for those being interviewed to be able to respond.

45~ minutes in you went on you tangent about mountain biking that was close to unrelated to the topic. be sure to stay on top of everything.

Yeah ok. But the biking thing was just part of the last question.

But thank you for the advice. I shall try to do better next time.

I've not posted in here for a while, so I thought I'd just drop a post in. No-Name has been doing a great job as a DJ, and his interviews have all been well presented and well organized. We're hoping to get more involvement from the Assistant DJs in the future, as well as a few music shows by our live musician, Artelis. the next time someone wants to do one.

we don't have a regularly scheduled show, mostly because we don't have a regular audience. once I can go in chat and more than 10 people can listen to the radio at once, then I'll start getting real organized.

until then, we're doing it by ear.

if you're in chat long enough, someone will link the radio and say they're live.
