Ah, complete with the old school 3D glasses (red/blue film lenses).

The sly series is great, but my favorite Sly was definitely the original.

Definitely #1 if you like puzzle games.
#2 would have to be Portal I'm stoked about Portal 2 coming out. I've beat the first one at least 1005432 times:]
#3 would be Call of duty. I love Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2:] I'm not a huge fan of Black Ops:[, though.
#3 Team Fortress 2 :] Also another Valve game.
      #4 Guitar Hero 3.
      #5 Halo.
Another Valve fan! TF2 was really good, but then they added the mann co store along with a bunch of noob item sets and I started losing interest. The sniper set is the most retarded thing ever put in any video game. Ever. Still one of my favorite multiplayer games though. I haven't played in a few months I should get back into it.
CoD4: MW was awesome, I never played online but the Veteran Campaign was extremely enjoyable. MW2 was good, but not quite as good as the first one IMO. Blacks Ops was meh. Arcade is a lot of fun though.
I liked Geeter Hero 2 better, but Through The Fire and Flames was better than Jordan. I remember the first time I was able to beat the intro without cheating and using my chin on the green. That day was epic. And Jordan was pretty lame, the entire song was easy to 4x except for the solo(wall of skittles) that felt more like luck than skill.

      1. Half-Life series
      2. Rayman 2
      3. Portal

Rayman 2 must be more than a decade old now, but it still has the best art and music evar. Truly great games only stay great with time, and art direction is something that doesn't date.

On a related note I played Mario 64 recently and it's mediocre as hell.

I also played Halo recently and was very disappointed because they shamelessly tried to make a 4 hour game into a 12 hour one by repeating the same two or three fucking rooms about a hundred times over with ZERO gameplay variation. Just look at how the thing ends, it's literally shooting exactly the same enemies you've seen for the last 8 hours, and then you drive away and the damn thing just stops. It's rubbish. The only redeeming factor is the good music and the art of the Halo world, which you see for about 10% of the game.

The "noob item sets" in that game have [mostly] existed from day 1. They're the default demoman loadout and default heavy+sandvich.

Spoiler for How to kill Crocostyle snipers:

Stickys are much less noob than the targe+eyelander. But it really just depends on the player and the map, Demo can be abused by noobs on CP Egypt by setting up stickys and lobing pipes randomly. And heavy in general is pretty noob, not as noob as W+M1 but close. I was talking about the sniper set and the pyro set. Pyros that run faster than 100% and snipers that can't headshot or be headshot are both aimed specifically at noobs. It's not a game breaker, but it is kinda lame. I was pleased with the scout set though; very useful for arena.

      Force A Nature master here.

Have you renamed your weapons to anything funny or cool? Perhaps an interesting description? I renamed my Vintage Force A Nature to "Impact Hammer" and set the description to "you huge fan noob - you in 5 seconds". Impact Hammer is from UT by the way, it's a melee weapon that instagibs people.

      I go by series, so:

      1. Pokémon. The only series I play as consistently as I do.
      2. Age of Empires, a close second.
      3. The Elder Scrolls/ Fallout Series both win here. (FO 1 - New Vegas/ Morrowind & Oblivion). I have hundreds of hours across all of these games.
      5. Civilization. Very very long games, but lots of fun. Haven't tried out V yet, though.
      6. Battlefield. I still play 'Nam/'42 occasionally.

I cant simply name five....so i'll catagorize them.

Ugh, just five? This list is subject to change in no particular order

Godhand-Unrivaled Beat em up, and it's the only one I know with a unique 3rd person perspective. The character has complete customization of his regular and special moves, and combos. You want him to have a little drunken boxing with a little Muay Thai thrown in? Go ahead. Fair Warning: This game isn't one of those current gen super easy game. It's challenging even on easy. I've beaten it on normal, but it took me several days to get past the first stage on hard.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night You take everything that was awesome about Metroid and put it in a Castlevania game. Then you throw in epic music, secret characters, and give enemies a loot list.

Max Payne 2: The fall of Max Payne The first game of it's kind that used slow motion as a power up. The story was a little cliche, but the comic cut scenes and the noir narration is what made it worth following. Also the AI adjusts to how you're playing. If you're untouchable, there's going to be five guys around that corner in stead of the usual 2.

Marvel Vs. Capcom If were playing Street fighter back in my generation, you probably got tired of the billions of spinnoffs, and eventually discovered X-men: Children of the Atom. That game set the basis for MVC, but MVC just took it to another level. Tag Teams, Capcom characters, Characters from the entire Marvel Universe, hyper combos you name it. Arcades still existed in every mall across America, and you got to see the look on your opponents face as you nailed them with air combo after air combo.

Chrono Trigger: One of the Best turn based RPGS ever made. For starters, you can evade battles because the enemies you face are literally on the screen. There's multiple endings, and each time you beat the game, you get to start over with the previous stats and be the game at different points in time. Speaking of time, it involved time travel, that's always a bonus in my book. The whole "what if" factor gets solved without a message board of people who guesstimate what would happen if the lead decided to take out the boss at an earlier point in the game.
And with that said, I'll further break it down per genre.
      Spoiler for the other games:

      Indeed! Valve's style is great.
I agree with you on CoD4 being much better, that was the original CoD I really got into.
Good to know someone has the same video game taste as I :]

      Thank you.

CoD4 was indeed great. I got into CoD through the first game, played it at a lot LAN parties. Great WWII arena shooter. The way CoD4 evolved the game was amazing, and made the game a great platform for clan play. Eventually though, people realised that the balance was pretty bad, and the entire game came down to pixel perfectly thrown grenades, which kind of sucked, and as WaW was released, the community just sort of died down

Started playing Super Meat Boy, enjoying myself so far. The fact that each level has a more difficult darkside is pretty neat. And they did a really good job with the music.

Yeah, I was going to add rogue galaxy to my RPG list....so much better, and cheaper than FF 12 when it came out. The storyline had some cliche moments, but it was well told. The battle system was pretty cool (should have been used in FF12...kinda reminds me of chrono trigger with a little FFX thrown in when it comes to getting your abilities), and I liked the weapon upgrade system. Oh, and the lead character wasn't all that weak looking like they tend to be in most JRPGs. LOL, that's a big deal for me, especially when you can't trade him out for the duration of the game.

Awesome list Auron. There isn't a bad game on it. You have inspired me to make my own large list of games.

It was either that or Blue Dragon, they were each pretty special in their own way. I may have put more time into BD, but that's only because I had to level up so much more after the game so I could finish off those harder poos on the list.

The reason i picked RG was the fact that I didn't have any achievements to hold me back from actually enjoying the game. I spent so much time tryn to get all those different swords and what not, it's always more fun when you don't have to get everything, but you still want to. Know what I mean?

Neir is really good at pissing you off while tryn to get all the diff materials, too. But I wouldn't wish that game on my worse enemy.

@Auron CV: SotN was awesome! I didn't even think of that game when making this list, if I could still edit my post I would totally add it to my Honorable Mentions.
@Yoshi Einhander was epic. I first discovered it many years ago on a PSX demo disc(they were awesome!). I played that demo so many times, then finally a year or so ago I remembered it and finally found the full game. Absolutely amazing sidescrolling shooter. Even better than Gradius 3.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Star Ocean 3 that game was an awesome Action RPG. I thought it was even better than some of Square's RPGs. I guess it's not as well known.

Yoshi, my only complaint is Sonic and Knuckles being only a runner up. I don't think any other console game offered extra replay out of your old games like it did. Also, I've always wanted to play Einhander and Persona. Oh and I kinda want to add Spiderman 2 the video game to my sandbox list. Since you're a fan of hard games, I would suggest you pick up God Hand or Viewtful Joe. I think you'd enjoy them both....VJ is kinda like Mega Man on acid, and Godhand well...it's just awesome in so many ways.

@GH oh yeah....BD was pretty good too.

@LTT I was supposed to borrow Star Ocean from my friend but he lost it....so it never happened.

Oh and Xenosaga: Episode III was pretty awesome as well. I never played the other ones, but I didn't have much of a problem getting into it.

@LikeToTrip, I actually have Star Ocean, but knowing how massive it is, I haven't started it yet. Trying to finish up a few other games before I start in on it. I'm sure I will end up loving it.

@Auron, it has been so long since I played Sonic & Knuckles. It is literally the only main series Sonic game that I don't currently own. I really need to just go ahead and ebay that one. All the local game stores always jack the price way up on it, so I have passed on it a few times. I used to own it, but somewhere over the years it was lost or sold.

I have Viewtiful Joe 2, but haven't got around to playing it yet. I have no idea why I haven't picked up the first one yet. Its only like $6 at GameStop . I've been keeping an eye out for Godhand, but it hasn't circulated through this area in a while. I'm sure it will come around soon enough. I'll definitely be picking it up. I've played Spiderman 2 several times over the years, but I don't own it. I have no idea why. It was an awesome game from what I remember and I definitely need to pick it up.

There are a couple more games I thought of and will add to my list.....
      Conquers Bad Fur Day
      Legend of Dragoon
      Panzer Dragoon Saga
      Metal Slug 3
      God of War II

#1 of all time = Mass effect series
      #2 = Elder Scrolls Series
      #3 = Bioshock Series
#4 = Brothers in Arms series
      #5 = Bloody Roar series

Mass effect in my opinion blows any game out of the water with its storyline alone not including its graphics...if you havnt picked it up its an amazing story and it is a privilage to play it

Mass effect in my opinion blows any game out of the water with its storyline alone not including its graphics...if you havnt picked it up its an amazing story and it is a privilage to play it
I was extremely unimpressed with mass effect. The story was meh and after awhile it got really monotonous. Every encounter was the same. And the talent tree system was extremely lame. It was an average TPS and an average RPG. It wasn't the epic action rpg I expected.
Bioshock1 was pretty awesome. Aside from the easy difficulty it was a great game. Bioshock2 wasn't... It was even easier and it didn't feel like rapture. It felt like some lame clone. And the double big sister fight I heard so much about was a joke. I was about to die when I noticed a shop that I could abuse. It made the fight extraordinarily easy. I beat it first try. What a shame... You were way too overpowered it really was dissappointing.
