Video game music is highly underrated.

Here's a good one to listen to during a storm:

Sonic 3D Blast
Rusty Ruins Act I

I like video game music more than other types of music more often than not. Some of my favorite games for this are as follows:

- Einhänder Number one favorite... Seriously if you like game music check this one out.
- Xenogears
- The World Ends With You
The above are from Squaresoft. I would include Final Fantasy, but I'm pretty much sick of all the music from those games.
- 虫姫さまふたり　That is, "Mushihimesama futari" or "Bug Princess, two people."

This game never saw an English release unfortunately.
- Axelay
- Phantasy Star Online Episode I, II, III and IV.
- Most Castlevania and Metroid games.
- The Witcher

I could go on and on. I'm just going to stop here. ;]

The Mother series has some really good music in my opinion. I didn't think much of 1 because it was more emotional, but 2 and 3... Wow.

May have already been mentioned, but Legend of Zelda really has its moments when it comes to music.

Also...Radiant Historia. Good god. Amazing game, amazing soundtrack. Can't post links or embed right now...but I suggest to all of you, look up 'The Edge of Green' (boss music), 'An Earnest Desire of Grey' (final boss), and 'Where the Wind and Feathers Return' (some cutscenes).

Fallout 3 has the best soundtrack i've ever heard, love every song on there.

As for original soundtracks, the original Pokemons all has epic music, and Sonic 2 was so damn cool too.
