Episode 2 was amazing, maybe even better than episode 1. They just did everything so well.

I was thinking, Catelyn isn't being made to look very good, right before the attempted assassination. And I was a bit annoyed that she was made to look like such an emotional irrational woman, while in the books she wasn't exactly like that. Then the strength she showed, emphasized by grousome the whole scene was, suddenly made her look better.

The Dany stuff was pretty odd. From the previews I thought there would be a 'lesbian' scene and I didn't like that idea. But it wasn't that bad, more believable than I expected. And that last sex scene with her was pretty okay.

And the Sansa - Joffrey - wolf - Arya part was great too. I was wondering how they'd pull that off, and they did it well. I particularly liked the reaction of the Sansa actress, when she said "You're ruining everything!" and when she tried to stop them from killing the wolf. It showed her character so well. And Joffery's reaction, to do nothing while Sansa was crying, made him look rightly terrible. I could go on...

      y u guys no troll bait, ?? :[

I'll give it a shot sometime this week. I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it since I'm not too big on these kind of story lines but the trailers seem promising enough.

This show is really fucking good.

I give two thumbs up for gay sex scene and breast sucking. Pissing Americans off, one episode at a time.

I thought episode 5 was amazing, the best so far. I was afraid the series might decline after watching episode 4, which I didn't mind but I could tell involved a bit too much talking for some people. Fight scene (warning: some gore, impaling):

And I loved how they portrayed the Eyrie. The weirdness I felt while watching it, from the music, lighting, dialog, etc. was pretty much the same as I felt while reading. I like that throne, and the kid looks and acts as sickly as I'd expect. I also particularly like how the hound turned out, perfect actor.

Also, after the first 4 episodes I doubted they'd show any male nudity, then they did. I liked the gay scene too.

Must admit, i didn't expect the series to be anywhere near as epic as the books, but was pleasantly suprised. Every aspect of it is incredible and breathtaking- I actually got all tingly during the ending scene, and the old bear's speech, on the last episode, and i usually NEVER feel like that while watching tv.
Also, I will have MAJOR complaints if Peter Dinklage doesn't get an emmy for his portrayal of Tyrion.

I agree 100% with Ashtaroth, if anybody deserves an award for his performance then Peter Dinklage does! He's a huge reason why i'm looking forward to season two.

I watched the first 6 episodes and must say that I really enjoy them. Now the question is - should I continue watching or maybe read the books first? But that could take a while: I'm quite busy, have other books to read as well and don't know if I can actually get them here. Would it enrich the viewing experience greatly? I know it probably would, I would still like an input of the book-fans and know if it is worth it to just put the whole thing on hold for a while.

I doubt it'd change the viewing experience much. If anything, you'd be able to follow the plot much better, so you can focus more on the little details.

You have read them, right? I just finished the first season and holy shit, what an awesome show. If I can get my hands on the books, I will, because waiting until 2012 to see how it continues may just be not acceptable.

I'm glad that I read the books before watching the series. For me, having read the books made watching the show even more exciting.

I have not read the books, however my older brother has and he told me they are great. Definitely worth it.

I went through the first season in two days a couple weeks ago. My first episode thoughts mainly consisted of: Oooh. Bewbs. Then I started paying attention and then before I knew it, it ate my whole weekend. Very very excited for the next season to start. I need to get my hands on the books. One of the things I really liked is how the series handles magic. It's a very understated kind of thing.

This series is good. I underrated it at first because it seems like medieval zombies vs dragons with some worthless political intrigue. But once you get into the politics it actually is intriguing. One of the big themes going on is Honor vs Strength which I focus on often in my own writing. Which one is greater? Honor or Strength?

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

The season 2 cast is out! I'm so excited! I've included brief descriptions below each picture for anyone who hasn't read the second books, or who forgets. No spoilers. (I have fun doing this, I don't even care if no one reads or looks!)

      Stannis Baratheon - Stephen Dillane:

The deceased king Robert's brother, who believes he is entitled to the crown. He is Lord of the isolated island of Dragonstone. An extremely uptight man who never smiles and believes brothels should be outlawed.

      Craster - Robert Pugh:

A 'Wildling' (someone who lives North of The Wall) who marries his daughters and is a friend to the Knight's Watch. There are several reasons to hate him.

      Gilly - Hannah Murray:

      One of Craster's daughters.

Davos Seaworth (The Onion Knight) - Liam Cunningham:

An ex-smuggler who lives on Dragonstone with Stannis. He was granted a knighthood after saving many from a siege years ago by smuggling them onions.

      Balon Greyjoy - Patrick Malahide:

Theon's Greyjoy's father. He's the ruler of the Iron Islands, a harsh land with harsher people who worship the Drowned God and have an affinity for sailing.

Yara Greyjoy - Gemma Whelan (They've changed Asha's name to Yara in the show.)

Balon's daughter and Theon's sister. An ambitious tomboy who fully embraces the harsh lifestyle of her home.

Brienne of Tarth - Gwendoline Christie!

Nicknamed 'Brienne the Beauty' in sarcasm. In the books, she is a hideous, large-boned, small-breasted woman who's an excellent fighter and acts like a man. She's extremely self-conscious about her appearance.

      Margaery Tyrell - Natalie Dormer!

The sister of Loras Tyrell (the pretty blonde knight who's secretly gay). A very well-liked, sociable girl.

Lady Melisandre (The Red Woman) - Carice van Houten!

An adviser to Stannis and a rumored sorceress. Nicknamed 'The Red Woman' because she dresses entirely in red, clothing to match her vibrant red hair and the ruby she wears at her throat. She's devoutly religious, and worships a god called the 'Lord of Light', who she believes wants Stannis to reign over the 7 kingdoms. And she's willing to do all she can to appease the Lord.

      -----------------
I'm happy with all of the choices, except for perhaps Brienne. I suppose I'll have to see how she turns out in whatever makeup they put her in, because she does not look ugly enough to me, and seems to have a regular build. The actress even looks pretty in some of the pictures that showed up.

Davos is aged a decade or so, just like most of the characters who in the books were in their 30s or so. I did imagine Davos to be quite younger, and he doesn't look right to me.

Melisandre looks perfect. It seems like I imagined that exact face while reading the books. She's attractive, but looks to have the sternness required, and she looks like red hair would suit her magnificently.

I'm also happy with Margaery. She was someone who, in the books, I didn't really imagine very clearly, so I have no mental picture of what she's supposed to look like. But the actress seems perfect. She's pretty, looks original, and captures the personality. I find it interesting that they chose Natalie Dormer, as her role in this show has similarities to her role in a major movie she was in.

Stannis and Balon both look rightly stern and uptight people. So I'm happy with those choices.

I'm quite happy with the choice for Yara. She looks almost exactly as she's supposed to, in my mind. I liked the name Asha better though. They changed the name because they thought people would confuse Osha and Asha. Osha is barely a main character. I wish they had thought ahead and changed Osha's name instead.

I haven't even read A Dance with Dragons yet. I'm reading the first four books again first.
That really sucks. Hopefully you'll get to see it someday. We have all of the episodes recorded on our TV, so I can watch them whenever I want. I want to have ... a huge GoT party and invite people over to watch it, especially people who haven't seen it. (I'm joking though, I'd never do that, too antisocial.)

      Season 2 begins April 1st!

3 blasts of the horn. If you've read the books you know what that means...
