The other day I was watching MLP and I think (if memory serves) that Twilight Sparkle was looking for someone to help and she came upon Rainbow Dash apparently fighting a bear. Sure, it turned out only to be an extreme massage situation, but when she cracked that bear's neck I just about spit, and exclaimed, "Did she just kill that bear?! OH MY GOD, she just killed that bear! Holy S**t!"

If I remember right, I was watching that one in one of those streams as it aired, and the chat was hilarious when that happened, everyone was like "Holy fuck how is this in a kids' show oh god what why what is fluttershy even doi- oh WHAT SHE KILLED IT" And also it was Fluttershy :3Quote:

I thought this whole ordeal was just a misunderstanding. Apperantly, it wasn't D:
New voice
This is horrible. Mostly because of the implications; they gave the fanbase a really cool and extremely big treat. Like, extremely big as in "holy shit has that ever happened before on any show?" big. And it lashed back at them. Apperantly they saw it fit to actually pull down the whole episode and actually change that treat because of what it had caused. Why oh why did they make that change? I can just imagine what this means to the show in the future, they're going to be very wary of what they put in there for the fans. And how has this affected the way they view bronies as a whole? I mean, I still don't know what caused this change, but as far as I know, it was a few loud bronies with vague complaints.
As for the changes themselves, it's not that big of a deal to me. I actually prefer the new voice, because it is actually female, and is closer to BaldDumboRat's Derpy voice, (Generally accepted as Derpy's voice by fans, including me) so I guess that's good. But then again, it didn't really bother me that her voice was different in the show, my headcanon was still the same.
But there's other changes in there as well, they took out the mention of her name. That... That I don't like, but oh well, again it doesn't mess up the headcanon, it's just sad because it happened at all.
And then, they actually underped her eyes, (mostly) which I think is really sad.

*sigh* None of this would have bothered me if it had just been this way to begin with. But to go back and change it after the episode aired, that's just ugh. I'm almost ashamed to be a brony because of that, because I know some bronies have been the cause of this.

And also, I think there used to be some bronies who were responsible for most of the Derpy-hatred, complaining and wanting it changed. If I understand how it went down correctly, then that was horribly bad brony style of them. Completely tossing out all the ideals and friendliness that we're supposed to have. But now? Now there's lots of bronies sending hatemail and generally hating on those people. Yeah, let's just burn love and tolerance while we're at it. I mean why not? This is seriously the peak of how bad it has ever been in the community. Please, can we go back to the time where mbulsht posted a well thought out open letter to the brony community about Love and Tolerance? To the time where ponychan and even pony threads on /b/ were the most welcoming places on the Internet?

Wait, what happened? Why did they have to change Derpy? I don't mind the voice being changed, I prefer the new one, but why did the eyes have to go?
From the way I understand it, some people (Apperantly it was just two loud people) started complaining about how the scene was making fun of retarded people, and that it was offensive and what not. Basically a big load of political correctness being dumped on top of Derpy. And then there was a lot of people who didn't like her boyish voice. (Well, I didn't really like that either, but holy shit, ever heard the phrase "don't look a gift horse in the mouth"? -.-)

My Little Pony is very clearly the superior television series.
@Maeni I feel the same way. I don't pay much attention to the fandom in general, in fact, this thread is the only place I really talk about ponies, but I do know that there are a lot of bronies who are... not so tolerant. And just not bright in general. It's things like this that ruin the fandom for everyone else.
