Level 9 Argonian.....back to the mancave I go; dealing with the likes of you fools seems arbitrary at this point, as I'm usually talking to myself in here anyway. |

I'll take storyline over combat any day when it comes to RPGs. The AI has improved, so you're not just fighting some clown who runs directly at your face all the time. It also depends on what type of combat you're referring to. There's only so many ways you can swing a sword at someone before you turn the game into soul caliber. Maybe you should try making a magic user or get your archery on. |

Bought it yesterday, it's lookin' good!!! |

Lucid dreaming since September 2011!!!
Lucid goals: Jumping out of a car going at high speed and crashing into an oncoming car, completely destroying the car, leaving me unharmed.[ ],
Visiting moon [x], Proper flying [x], Stabilizing an LD perfectly [x], Shoot lightning/lasers out of my fingers [x], Shapeshifting [ ], Fly a helicopter [ ], TOTY 2013 [ ], Change dreamscene [x].
Lucids: 16 crappy, 15 good, 5 awesome.
That's too bad because I actually really like the concept. Open-ended style without set classes is definitely something I'm in favour of. |

Yeah I love Elder Scrolls open ended RPG style. I had a blast in Morrowind. Oblivion was a step down to me but Fallout 3 basically upheld all the expectations that oblivion failed on. In all three games combat was a disappointment, least of all in fallout which was more like a straight FPS. I'm not only interested in combat but it really hurts the game if the battles don't run smoothly. They don't have to be easy or anything but fighting has always been very awkward in bethesda games. |

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
I still have the mouse problems, but I have played a bit anyway. |

What are your specs Dianeva? I've been thinking of getting it and I think my desktop meets at least minimal requirements. |
|
I would say it was hugely disappointing, but that would require me to have expectations to begin with. Several months ago when Todd Howard said that they took lessons learned from Fallout and incorporated them into Skyrim, I knew it would be a pile of shit. And I was right. I'm really glad I only pirated it and I didn't actually spend $60 on this crap. |

This game is the best use of money I've spent on a game in along while. (up there with minecraft, killing floor, oblivion) Logged like 20 hours so far and I've hardly scratched the surface. I'll explain a little what the game is like. The game is around 25 square km, so it takes around 2 irl hours to walk from one side to the other. Not that you have to do that, you can spend a little coin to hire a horse taxi, or buy/rent a horse to ride yourself, and once youve visited a city or location once you can fast travel via your map. Also walking across such a large area isn't simply barren, theres tons and tons of unique dungeons in the game (~200), as well as chance encounters with fellow travelers, wildlife, thieves, vampires, as well as the (some scripted, some random) encounters and battles with dragons. |

Mine meet the minimum requirements, but fall a bit short of the recommended ones. I only have 2 GB of RAM and Core 2 Duo. Maybe it has something to do with my video card though. I'm ignorant about those and don't really know how to tell if mine is good enough, but thought I had a good one. (NVIDIA GeForce 9400). |

Hm, yeah that video card should be good enough, I wonder what it is. My brother got it too so I'm just gonna test it out first before I get it myself. |

Aside from the ending and the combat, Fall-out 3 was a really nice game. |

Except for the massively improved graphics and the improved skill/leveling system. It takes perks from Fallout 3 which worked well and they added those VATS-like finishing moves that really add some cool feel to the combat. |
|
That just makes it more promising for me, Fallout 3 was awesome. |

Yeah uhhh, don`t get a gaming laptop. For the same price I can custom build you a desktop PC that will absolutely destroy your laptop in performance, like easily double it. Laptops will croak after a year or two, as gaming really puts a strain on GPUs and CPUs, not to mention the PSUs in laptops are naturally made for less wattage to be pushed through, the laptop is going to get really, really hot because its in such a confined space. If you want to upgrade your graphics card or processor in a couple years, get a custom build PC as you can't with a laptop. Unless of course you travel on planes or something constantly. |
