Lol well, as a Mod, I'm able to see deleted postings, so I saw the Anthem vid you had posted a little ways up. That's what sparked me to post these.

I also recently started listening to all of Carress of Steel - and have even begn to like Fountain of Lamneth, which took me a long time to develop the taste for. According to the Egodeath.com website, the lyrics of most Rush songs relate indirectly to acid. The Cask of '42 (I think that's the date?) refers to the year LSD was created.

Hm, it's "Draw another goblet from the cask of 43'" but I always thought that was because Niel Peart was a history nerd lol I had a dream one night about being in a history class where we were drawing goblets on sketch pads and the teacher kept saying "draw another goblet". The next day I was like wait... I just reinterpreted those lyrics lol. There was a time when I never thought I would really like this but the lyrics are just so good to me. My favorite lyrics from this song are "Life is just a candle and a dream must give it flame".

Ever since a few months ago when I was falling asleep while it was on, and I hit that point where I couldn't tell it was music anymore, or what it was - it just became waves of magical energy swirling around and through me and propelling me through space. It seemed like it literally went on or hours, and was the most incredible, awe-inspiring event I've experienced in years. I woke up near the end of it and was just like Damn!

I need to do that more often. when it hits you right it's like a great trip (but if you're really tired or need sleep or if it's not the right song it's just annoying).

Yes... these are good moments. The best "headphones in bed while half conscious and startled by awesome music" moment I had was from Echoes by pink floyd when David Gilmour does that mystical two melodies at once riff toward the end. I really think that's the only way pink floyd is properly enjoyed.

I actually wasn't familiar with this one, nor have I ever seen live Yes footage. Didn't realize Jon Anderson played a guitar (though I should have known - everybody in Yes is multi-talented to like the genius level).
