Shared Dreaming Class Intro and Lecture #1: Dream Plane Theory and Recall

Hello Oneironauts!

Welcome to world's first online Shared Dreaming Class (that we know of!)

Anyway, some housekeeping:

Everyone is automatically approved to be a student (unless you think shared dreaming is impossible, or you don't want to write in your DJ every day).

Please fill out an application anyway so we can get to know you.

We are looking forward to sharing what we have learned, and aiding you in your dream progress.

Raven Knight will be posting a text lecture soon.

Please post any questions or comments about Dream Plane Theory, and Dream Recall here.

Here is a post I wrote in Deep Dreaming, a lot of which I learned from Raven Knight and Man of Shred, among others. (Ask for access to the forum from staff.)

Shared Dream Etiquette and Dream Plane Theory

First Assignment

After watching the video lecture, and reading the text lecture,

Your first, and continuing assignment is to begin a Dream Journal and write in it every day. If you can't remember anything, just write your Recall method attempt. I made a suggestion in the video on how to improve recall. There are many methods that you can find for yourself listed on this site.

Recall is the most basic and important Dreaming Skill.

Advanced Task (not mandatory)

In a dream, write in your DJ a dream you want to have in the future.

We are going to host an informal live chat on Skype some time next week for an hour on this topic. I will post the time once we solidify it. This is not mandatory.

I read it. For the advanced task, is it really necessary to write, IN A DREAM, a future dream we want. Is that a typo? Or, if it isn't, could I just you know... do the dream. Or hell if necessary, write it, and then do it in the same dream.

That is not a typo, but you could do that too.

read it, but i could not look at the Shared Dream Etiquette and Dream Plane Theory link, it said i did not have permission. is there some group i am supposed to be part of or something? and hey Sydney, glad you joined

Oh, it's under Deep Dreaming. You should definitely ask for access to that forum.

Deep Dreaming is a sub-forum of Beyond Dreaming. You must ask staff for access, but please do.

Read it before, posting now to confirm... when I get around to typing it up I'll have a very interesting DJ entry for you guys... I broke my recall dryspell (that I've been having for a few days due to school) and remembered one from last night in full detail, and it was quite an experience (albeit nonlucid)... lots of symbolism in that dream, Nomad'll probably be interested in it...
