Or, if you're a total mad hatter like me, you can type Win+R and have access to everything you could ever think of provided it's somewhere in your %PATH% (which it really shouldn't be, but hey). As for 20-30 icons, and actually using the quick launch tray, fellows, what are you thinking.

My desktop:

No more than one line of icons!

Man, that's still a lot of icons. Seriously, I got rid of all mine except three in the quick launch tray. Any more and its counter-intuitive...it takes you longer to find the shortcut than to just open the start menu.
I like Kaniaz's desktop. Especially because he has two monitors. I want two monitors. But NO...stupid computer can't handle it.

This may explain why I've been on DV so much lately - every time I log off, I still see it! LOL

I finally gave in and reinstalled WindowsBlinds.
And me, attention deficit as always, can't EVER decide on one wallpaper. So I'm bouncing between two, at the moment.

Yeah, the elephant one is really awesome. I spent WAY too much time scrolling through DeviantArt to find it, though. I LOVE the Communist Party wallpaper, by the way (and avvy, coincidentally). I saw the shirt with the image on it and was REALLY tempted to buy it, but I never really use internet shops, so I didn't. But I think I've still got the page bookmarked somewhere in case I feel extravagant someday.

Yeah it totally sucks. My graphics card can't run Aero. I'm also having the 100% CPU usage problem with SearchIndexer... blah.

That's weird, Search Indexer should only blast your CPU when you're not there. I remember a problem with Spotlight for Macs just like this, funny.

What's your Windows Experience Index? (I hate that phrase). It's in Control Panel > System Rating or something.

It's 1.0 last night before I installed more RAM but it probably hasn't changed due to the incredible power of Intel Integrated Graphics.

Wow, 1.0? That's pretty cack. Sounds like your graphics card (or lack thereof) is the bottleneck there, I mean, the computer tends to be only as fast as the weakest link.

Yep, I have higher scores in everything except the gaming graphics area, which has a baseline score of 1.0 resulting in my overall score of 1.0.

Yeah, Intel Integrated SUCKS. That's what's in my box right now, and it's the reason why I never bothered to move up to Vista when they started putting out the release candidates.

It's kind of unfair. I got this computer a year and an half ago and my friend got his this past summer. He has the newest intel-integrated and it supports Aero.

I got mine almost exactly a year ago, and it doesn't support it either. Well, I don't know for sure, since I haven't installed Vista, but the Vista compatibility thingy said it couldn't, so I'm assuming it can't.
