I wrote this poem my senior year for my magazine project in dedication (hey, I wanted to listen to this song! to my first cat, Misty:
When I looked in her eyes,
As green as gems,
I wish I knew what she thought.
I loved her to death
And I spoiled her, too,
And toys of all kinds I bought.
I admit that she
Was not quite as bright
As some of the toys I did buy her,
But I never expected
She would sadden me so
When she died, quite alone, in the dryer.
Third grade... As sad as it was, I do kind of have to laugh. She was not a bright cat. She would get caught when the swinging doorw as closing.
