so i have a pretty bad memory, so that really doesn't help when i'm trying to remember a dream. When I wake up i have a feeling that i know i dreamed. but i have absolutly no idea what it was about. I hardly ever remember my dreams anymore. I used to have the most hilarious weird dreams like a few years ago. but now i can't remember them. like this morning, i woke up knew i dreamed, was going to write it down. but i had no clue of what i dreamed. |

I'd try getting more sleep. Patience and motivation always work, as well as what 12g951ad said; a dream journal. |
|
I told you how too in your Newbie thread... |

Insanity is the mind's only effective defense against reality.
sometimes dreams are so good that it hurts to wake up... .
I even explained what a Dream Journal was ,_, |

I find recall easier the longer i sleep. Also don't get right up when you wake, stay still, don't look around, don't think ahead to what you need to do when you get out of bed, just close your eyes and try to remember what was just happening. Don't fall back asleep though, which is one of the hardest things for me personally. Almost everytime I'm trying to recall a dream, I fall back asleep lol. |

Guys, his problem is that he can't remember his dreams in order to even write them down, so how do you expect him to keep a dream journal? |
|
I'm thinking about buying a device to help me keep a digital dream journal with my own voice and this things sounds pretty cool: Sony ICDUX80 Digital Voice Recorder with MP3 Stereo Recording and Playback (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-ICDUX80-R...8332779&sr=8-1) Because it has Voice Operated Recording (VOR) feature which stops the recording during silent pauses, saving valuable recording time, then begins recording again without missing a single syllable because of the digital buffer. So with such device you could also record things you say / sounds you make in your sleep. I haven't tested but I think it'd help a lot. 1 more advantage is not having to move your body or extremities to keep the journal (will be in VOR mode whole night) Then you can perform several techniques without getting out of SP. Just an idea |
|
Repeat to yourself while going to sleep: "I will awake from my dreams and remember them completely." |
|
Bollocks.
VOR option will only activate when I actually make sounds so when I set it with right sensitivity It should only be recording when I moan/yell/fart/cry/grind teeth or actually keep the dream journal (which is the main target) Don't think it'd be more than 1 hour for 8 hours of sleeping |
|
Just keep trying, and keep using autosuggestion. I still don't remember 'em EVERY night, but it's getting more and more common that I do than it ever was before. They're really cool, too. Sometimes VERY weird, sometimes very funny, sometimes both! |
|
Set an alarm for 90 mins before you wake up normally. |
|
REALITY CHECK
Autosuggestion and DJ'ing, as others mentioned, definately helps for me. |

I find it sometimes helps to focus on and remember the last thing I dreamed of then work backwards as far as I can. |

Voice recorders are a godsend for dream journals! Any tape recorder or Digital Voice Recorder that's easy to switch on when you're half asleep is good! |

You talk to vacuum cleaners and safes, you've had apple trees growing in your living room, tigers and horses in your dining room, an elephant in your bedroom. I've seen you locked in a jail in the middle of your living room and once someone swore they saw you floating in mid-air! How do you explain that, Major Nelson!?
this could just be me but i havnt been able to remember a single dream for the past 3 days, even though i wake up right from them and i'm doing everything right. and i think it's because it has been exceptionally freezing here at night during the past 3 days, and i live in san diego, so i'm not used to it at all. and as soon as i wake up, i can't help it, but usually the thought "jesus it's fucking cold" enters my mind before "what did i just dream?". not too mention it's makes it hard to relax and calm the mind and body and all that jazz when i'm shivering my ass off. |
