      Dream recall increased

Recently my dreams have been more vivid...Like in one I could feel the cold or the heat...And it just is more real. The only thing is I can't remember all of the parts of my dreams... How long did it take you to get really good at dream recal and how?

Its always different. If you keep writing them down and get in the habit your recall should get good quite fast. At least for rememebring a dream or two a night, and the more you do it....But there is no time scale or anything.

The first night I decided to record my dream, I remembered 4 dreams! (with short awakenings within the night). They were always clear and vivid if I concentrated when I first stated, but after a couple weeks I was able to recall my dreams upon awakening and not having to ponder over it.

The more you practice recalling your dreams, the better you'll get. Good Luck

I don't think I'll ever be able to consistantly remember every part of all my dreams every night. But Jessica's completely correct. As long as you are keeping a journal, it'll get better over time.

      newbie Question

Is it ok if i can only recall 1-2 dreams a night? and if so, is it essential to try and recall more? becoz the last hour or so of dreaming is supposed to be more lucid.....anyways any tips much appreciated..

My journey (believe it or not) actually started after watching the film "Waking Life" ........its mind boggling

1-2 full length dreams per night consistently is very good dream recall in my opinion.

my dream recall increases/decreases from week to week depending on a number of factors:

-How much cannabis Ive been smoking (tends to lower recall for me)
-How seriouly Ive been taking my dreaming (e.g. Regular RCs, updating my dream journal etc)
-General stress and other crap of the day.
