      Recall after full sleep...

I have been training my recall since summer 2007, and still find it difficult to recall anything after a full night sleep. -.- Do I need more training before I can do this or what?

The best way to remember your dreams is to wake up every time you have had a dream. It is possible to train yourself to do this. I don't know how hard that is, though.

i use to set the alarm in the middle of the night to get used to get lighter sleep there, and perhaps even wake up to make it easier to recall.
I don't know if this really works, but i do it anyway.

If you don't wish to set an alarm during the night (might disturb others, etc.), other members have tried drinking lots of water right before bed in the hopes that they'll wake up during the night to empty their bladder.

Setting an alarm is probably the best way. I don't like to set early alarms during the week because I have to wake up early for classes. And I find because I get less sleep anyways during the week because I go to sleep late and wake up early, I naturally wake up in the middle of my REM sleep and get better recall. So I guess you could just sleep less too

I have a pretty cool sleep feature that helps me with this.
I simply set my alarm clock and I always wake up minutes before it goes off to avoid listening to it.

B6 vitamins but just recently I have been able to remember 4-5 dreams a night, started around 1. Eventually you'll get the hang of it.

Usually once I wake up I got through familiar names/places/events. You'll know when you come across something that might have happened.

For me, it seems the "training to wake up" thing is working. I'm not entirely sure though, since I just started getting into this dreaming stuff.

First few days, i was telling myself to "remember my dreams" before sleeping. Most of those days, I remembered (parts of) the last dream I was having before I woke up.
Yesterday, i told myself to "wake up after each dream and remember it" before sleeping. I woke up three times, each one after more than 6 hours since I went to bed, and was able to write down (parts of) 4 dreams.

I really stated those words verbally to myself for about 15 minutes. Maybe that helps.
