      Water and Dream Recall

I have a theory that builds on the official lesson of dream recall. It is drinking a lot of water before going to sleep. What I think this will do is trigger yourself to get up and pee at one of your later REM periods, Right after your dream. This will make it much easier to wake up at the right time to record your dreams. This may also help you wake up to try a WILD.

Discuss this theory, prove me wrong, or make a point!
LD's: One plus one equals two!

Makes sense. But some people wet the bed and they won't wake up...

Only obvious problem is that it might intefere with a lucid dream.

But Ive found that physical pain, having to urinate, is one way to attain lucidity through the reality check of "having pain".

      Im going to try this.

Hmm, I don't know. I often don't wake up during the night to go to the bathroom, which means that in the morning I always really have to pee...!
I think you'll have to drink loads of water for this to work, because while you're sleeping your body produces antidiuretic hormones, meaning it stops you from having to pee (preventing you from having to get up every few hours to go to the bathroom). So unless your bladder is extremely full, I don't think it works.
But since this is just theory, tonight I will drink a lot of water, and I'll let you know what my experience was tomorrow.

Yeah, but this is only for dream recall, I wouldn't recommend it if ou're attempting an LD

Sooo, I don't know! I drank lots of water, but I sort of screwed it up by telling myself while I was falling asleep that I would wake up after every dream; so when I woke up like 5 hours later when my dream ended (I think) I naturally had to go to the bathroom. But whether I woke up because of the water or because I told myself to wake up? Who knows.. How about I'll try just the water tonight.

Well, if you're able to wake up without water anyway, why try it? It seems like a detour to me.
How I discover what my dreams are about

In my last lucid dream I made pink sparks between my palms. I was trying to make a white ball of energy...

I used to drink a lot of water before bed just as a normal thing, and it would actually interfere with my dreams. In reality I would have to go to the bathroom, and since I was dreaming when it happened I'd end up in a bathroom and go in the dream and I actually felt relieved. It didn't wake me up though.

It felt so real I was always surprised I didn't actually go. I don't know about this technique, but it definitely makes for interesting dream interference. I stopped drinking water before bed because that got real annoying. This is like the opposite of going to bed thirsty, except with that one there's no chance of waking up in a pond.

Long known, but it sure works.

For me it barely does, I have a strong bladder.

That actually happened to me when i was about 8... i dreamt that i went to the bathroom and started to pee and i woke and i peed in bed XDXD The scary thing was that it felt so real! its one of the most real life-like dreams i ever hadXD

annnny ways.... i tried the water technique again last night ( No, i dident pee in bed) but i woke 2 times ^^ I dident recall any dreams cause forgot to lay still >___< but i remembered one this morning thought im trying again tonight

      Peace!

Because I don't really feel like telling myself every night before I fall asleep 'I will wake up after my dreams and remember them'
because I actually like to think about loads of other things while falling asleep, so another technique that would do the trick could be this one.
Call it variation if you like.

However, I think I'm like Überschall, I have a pretty strong bladder. I didn't wake up until my alarm went off this morning (one guess what the first thing I did was)
