      Any good recall tips?

I've started up a journal, and did autosuggestion to tell myself to wake up and remember my dreams, but it only works about 30 percent of the time... Most of the time, as soon as I wake up, I try to remember what I was dreaming about, and I can't remember didly squat.

It's weird though, for three nights I didn't remember anything, and then two nights ago I remembered three in one night. (I seemed really into it though, I was almost straining myself as I fell asleep to tell myself to remember) Again this morning I couldn't remember anything either, so do you think it's just because I'm not getting into it enough?

Anyone got any tips?, cause not a whole lot is working for me...

You are doing all the right things, don't give up! Sometimes it just takes time to develop a good recall. It took me months to get to the point where I could start remember a full dream per night. The important thing is to stick with your dream journal, it's probably your greatest aid in your venture for better recall.

A second tip is: don't strain yourself. If it's not working as well as you want it to take a break, sometimes results come by themselves.

Dream recall is a funny thing, sometimes you will remember everything, and at other times you can't recall anything at all. But it seems that you are doing fine.

Has anyone tried voice recordings rather than written records for dream recall?
An idea is something you haven't fully considered.
A belief is merely a repetitive thought.
A conclusion is simply where you stopped thinking.

      Just keep trying :-)

      It gets easier with practice.
A few tips i use are:
1: Backtrack- usually its easier to remembe rthe end of a dream so try to work out how you got there, wehat happenend before that, it will come eventually.
2: Think about it through the day- sometimes Ill be in work and Ill remember a new thing about a dream and i have to write a note on my arm quickly before i forget :-) I have a lot of time to think there so I often try to recall more of a dream
3: Try to 'trigger' a memory- usually I dream about certain people or places, if I think about something during the day I might get a sudden spark of memory of a dream from the night beofre.,..once i know what the word/name is, I keep repeating it in my mind and try to coax the memory out...

Hey, thanks guys... I guess I'm just impatient...

I also think it has something to do with my busy schedule... I guess I get so tired from working 8 hours, and driving 2, that I just get so tired I sleep like a rock... who knows... It'll have to be a weekend thing!

Hey, that sounds a lot like what I've experienced.

However, I can't bring you any good news. I've persisted for (what seems) a very long time. I first learnt about lucid dreams around last christmas and Ive been having on and off dreaming ever since then, with no lucidity.

I dont really think I try hard enough, though.

I also had the same problem with getting enough sleep. After a while though, with the desire to dream well, I got myself into a regular sleeping rhythm. I think if you try to do this, you might be happier in more than one way in your life.

My life is obviously different to yours, and might be more predictable. In school terms, I aim to get to bed at 10 and wake up at 7 20 AM.

That works for moi. 8) I just think to myself, "I must have had a dream/more dreams last night..." over and over, and eventually the memories will come flooding back.

yeah, I've just gotta practice... I've gotten to the point that I pretty much remember snippits of a lot of things when I wake up (sometimes more, but not that often).

It's weird though a couple days ago I was dreaming and I could feel myself waking up, so I started remembering what happened before I was fully conscious, and I could remember pretty much everything that happened with crystal clarity. Then when I finally woke up, it was like a brick wall fell in between me and my memory. I could actually feel it being cut off, and I was struggling with trying to remember it. Bizarre...
