you could wake up 4-5 hours after going to sleep, that way you'll have more probability of waking up directly from the dream and you can write it down. I find that when I can't remember a dream, sometimes just making a huge memory effort is enough, so that later on in the day something will trigger the memory of a dream. |

"Why are you explaining to me how your lucid dream works? I'm just a figment of your imagination." -Smart ass DC
LD Tasks:
-> Have MILDs at will
-> Ask my subconcsious mind something deep (i.e. the meaning of life)
-> Have a fight controlling bullet-time
-> Call my cell phone and ask the DC who he is
A good way to improve your recall is to go to bed with a clear mind, maybe try some meditation but a nice way is to go to bed and just concentrate on your breathing and let your mind clear and that should hopefully rid your mind of any stress or worrys before you go to sleep, that way after you have fallen asleep you should be able to recall some nice dreams because of this clear mindset. If you have any questions feel free to ask! |

for me dream recall quickly diminishes the more you ground yourself in the real world. That means when you wake up, don't move around, don't start thinking about your day (I usually plan mine a day ahead), etc. If I close my eyes in this position, more obscure parts of the dream even start to piece together. When I have the most I can extract, only then would I get up and write in my dreamjournal. |

All the above answers are pretty good, but I can add a few. Sometimes when I wake up, I still have thoughts of my dreams running around in my head that I don't concentrate on. When I pay attention to these thoughts, it suddenly hits me that they are memories of my dreams. Usually I just remember a tiny bit, but from there I can slowly reconstruct my dreams. If you wake up and your mind is blank, try thinking about what you did the day before. It is possible that you will either trigger your dream memories or that you will actually remember dreams that were passing for regular memories. |
