... for the whole of a few seconds, but how is it possible to loose lucidity in the middle of a vivid lucid dream? How can you forget that you are dreaming?
Distractions? Since you're brain isn't fully "on", you're usually not as intelligent as you are in RL. So if you see something that really interests your dream self, then it looses the idea that you're dreaming.
That's my theory.
It seems like we have to work hard to stay lucid, constantly doing RCs or things to make the dream more vivid. I think it's just too delicate of a thing. Unless you get really good at it with tons of practice.
