recurring dream signs? WHERE ARE THEY??!

I never get any recurring things in my dream to look out for! i really want to find them because there must be some. i see specific people alot, but thats too real to think 'oo i must be dreaming!' one thing i do look out for though is things that look odd and stuff, but i seem to get so open minded and gullible in my dreams!!! my wallpaper starting talking to me once and it seemed totally normal.

just keep writing in your dream journal, after a while you'll notice similarities in your dreams. don't give up on it

I'm in the same boat as you...it used to just come naturally for me to have LDs and remember my dreams and I feel like the harder I try to force it to happen the harder its getting. Maybe these techniques aren't right for everyone. People are so different in the way their minds work, how can one way of doing something be the "right" way. I'm getting a little worried b/c I haven't had 1 LD since joining, and a couple of days before I joined I had 4 without even really trying, I just said to myself I think I'll take a nap and maybe I'll have an LD. So I have mixed feelings about this, mostly because the information on this forum is awesome and the amount of support is unbelievable I just don't understand why I'm worse off now than I was before joining?

recurring dream signs are pretty rare and elusive.

For example I had a dreamsign of weapons -almost every day I would see guns in dreams... Well, after a week or so it stopped...

then there was "sex with strangers" dreamsign once again, after a week it vanished.

Right now I'm having a dreamsign of middle school (even tho Im not in school anymore) and people from there. This is by far the best dreamsign I ever had, as it results in lucidity 95% of the time...

sometimes with dreaming there seems to be points where you just can't do it... you get stuck in a rut. it's happened to most everyone i'm sure. maybe you should just take a small break, couple days to a week or so, from your techniques and just relax. take it easy for a while and then start up again see if it helps

i find that i am more aware in my dreams and more likely to wake up after them when i have a calm unworried mind. meditiation worked well for me last night and even though i saw no recurring dreamsigns (ARRGGGH) i was aware enough to wake up straight away from my dream (laughing my head off ) and to remember really well! So i can use the things i remember as dreamsigns because i may see things similar that remind me that im dreaming...

Ev, are you still having trouble? maybe you are tring too hard and the worst thing you can do is get frustrated with yourself! its like a vicious circle ay! i think that when i've got alot of sleep to catch up on, my brain works over time to sort out my thoughts and stuff, so i dont have enough 'energy' in my head to even remember to become lucid!
i hope it works out okay for you x

nope, I'm not trying too hard... actually exactly opposite. I'm pretty relaxed and almost not trying at all to become lucid...
on several nights I even avoided word "lucid"...

results were outstanding - 17 separate LD sessions in august!

maybe you should focus on the intention to become lucid and tell yourself its possible and almost see it happening? (but trying to hard leads to frustration as i learned!)
