Thread: Difficulties With Dreamsigns

My supposed dreamsigns are, by order of occurence :

1. My girlfriend.
2. Old friends from my native place that I see once each 2-3 mouths.
3. Living in an appartement that is not my real one or in a hostel.
4. Being in a car/train/taxi/car.

They seem too general and too reallistic. Are they really dreamsigns? Should I recall more carefully my dreams, seeking for better dreamsigns? Should I do a RC each time a meet my girlfriend/friends, enter in a room or a car?

No, they sound like find dreamsigns to me. Especially since they happen in real life, you could make good use of them. Do reality checks every time you see your friends and girlfriend, or when you are in a car or train. Do whatever reality check you like the best (most people like the holding your nose and trying to breathe one). Get in the habit of doing this every time you run across one of these signs and chances are you'll be more aware of them in your dreams.

I use multiple RCs. If there is something to read, I read it, look elsewhere, read again. Else I do the nose pinching. Is that good or should I do only one RC and always the same?

The problem is that I never (or don't remember) of having been lucid because I made a RC in a dream, so I don't know which one is not most efficient for me

In addition. Each time before doing a RC, I try too determine if I'm dreaming or not (but then I will RC anyway), by asking myslef "what was I doing before? and before? Should I be here?" I also look at the environement, details, try to change things. Does everybody do the same or am I doing too much?

If you do find that they aren't working after several occurances each, you might wanna look for something really odd that occurs. A particular reoccurant dead person, or an ability you often find you have, that isn't possible in real life. You may not notice any of these now, but in the long term, there are often things that come back once in a while, that you'll probably find easy to become lucid from!

Ok, I will search for theses odd things. But then what should I do with?

For example, I remember that I dreamed twice of a Tsunami, let's that say this is one of my "odd" dreamsign. How can I practice in waking life? I watch tsunami pictures/movies and do RCs?

Oh, no, ya just know that if you ever see one, you'll know its a dream! It might not work the first few times, but eventually you'll get so frustrated at not noticing something so obvious, you'll remember it in your dream and know you're dreaming! From the very beginning of LD practice, there's been this dead girl I know, who occassionally pops up in my dreams. Because I know she's dead, I know I must be dreaming and have become lucid every time! Some people have more subtle dreamsigns than others though, so while this may work for me, it might not for others. Still, it requires no practice so I guess you can give it a go!

good dream signs are ones that arn't so obvious so keep on with that good stuff and it'll be all good
