Thread: Unusual Dream Signs (and By Unusual I Mean Usual)

i just had my first lucid dream at attempt, during which i only had a little control for a little while, but i was wondering if anyone else had really normal dream signs (like things that we commonly see in the real world).

the sign that made me realize i was dreaming was that i was barefoot. whenever i'm awake and barefoot i don't think i'm in a dream. and this isn't a dream sign i have often (or at all).

strange, right?

From what I've noticed from my dream journal so far I have extremely normal dream signs.

Usually, my dreams take place with me doing something in school or on the school bus. I do a reality check when I'm in or going to either. My other is skateboarding, which I do almost every day. A lot of my dreams contain me skateboarding or me having to do something skateboard related.

Dream signs vary completely from person to person and they aren't always abstract things such as an odd colored animal or something to that extent. I, for one, find it to be a benefit to have mundane dream signs because I get more reality checks in daily, which in theory will help me do more reality checks in dreams.

i think that my dream sign is water slides. ya i said water slides. its really odd for me because i dont go on water slides a lot. Its utterly random. Also they mostly appear in improbable places, for example, once there was a water slide right in the middle of a clothing store. im upset because in my dream i saw it and accepted it as the mundane.

One of mine is water, whatever form it's in (ie. a river or rain or whatever.)

My other one is breaking technology - apparently that's more of a common dream sign

My dream sign is school.
My dream characters are typically my classmates, my dad and/or my sister going on adventures with me.

It's about as mundane as you can get. It's one reason why it can be hard for me to recognize that I'm dreaming - even though I've been out of university for nearly two years.

I find, though, that even in these commonplace scenarios that there is always a little something not quite right. Like the classroom is floating hundreds of feet in the air, or I'm doing laundry in class (these are both actual dreams I had within the week, hahaha.) Those are your cues to knowing it's a dream (of course ) If it doesn't seem quite right, just try exercising some control over your actions in your dream and see where it takes you.

My main issue is that when I recognize I'm dreaming, I get overly excited and wake up!

I have some pretty weird dream signs like one of them is a mountain that has trees growing all over it and it's guarded every day of the except for a couple hours on a day and on that day people climb the mountain and cut down the trees to use as christmas trees

Hi there...I joined the forums not quite a year ago, and this is the first time I've come here since then...

In between last year and this one, I have noticed that my mind has chosen a certain famous person to be a common dream fixture when it comes to the decisions I am making either about healing my life spiritually, my career goals or both. This is not so much a lucidity symbol I guess as something basic and archetypal. But I know when the archetype shows up in my dreams: there is a feeling that smacks me right where my heart chakra would be...I cannot describe it in words other than "awe," "amazement," and "joy."

This famous person is a long-time front-man for a British 70s group, but who has also done many solo albums on his own. I also happen to be a passionate fan of his music and lyrics. I feel drawn to him and his music for a reason, but I am not sure why. Perhaps I will find out later...in the meantime, as I said before, he comes up as an archetype representing my spiritual healing and career decisions.

Anyone else have this sort of experience?

The last couple of years has been a great time of spiritual growth for me. When I get that feeling in my dreams, it's pretty much split evenly towards someone famous and someone not. It's about that feeling (giddiness, "awesome", almost tickly.)

The heart chakra is all about love, letting go, strength through emotion. Perhaps you keep having these recurring dream character dreams because you simply admire what he stands for in one of these fields. It could be that he personifies your own aspirations (perhaps you'd like to be more confident, and see that in him; or very expressive, which you'd like to be, etc.), or just that he seems to be really making wonderful choices and being a cool person.

A big one for me are malls , i think its because I try to avoid them as much as possible in WL that when I see myself in one I know that im dreaming .
Another one is people from my past , but thats pretty common no ?
