The inability to talk, kind of like when you yawn and just can't. It's in just about all of my dreams, and used to be fairly annoying. Whoopie i found a dream sign! |

I always get the back in high school dreams. The loose teeth/teeth falling out dreams... the unbelievably insane alien invasion dreams.. or I'll experience a false awakening with Ghosts/evil spirits... and I've never experienced that in waking life, so a ghost is an obvious WTF moment for me.. Most of the time it is something unusual that catches my attention, though.... not a normal dream sign. for example I'll look at something one minute, then when I look at it again, it's completely different. This can go for anything from clocks, tvs, computers, words, numbers, anything. Be on the lookout all the time. |

Lately, bodies of water and telephones. |
This awesome swamp that has either been the center of my dreams, or in the background as I am travelling. |
This week it has been walking in crowds of people and half of them are giants... Also I had a recurring one where giant balls were rolling towards me and I was running away |
Lately tornados aren't so common. Now I know I'm dreaming when I crawl out of bed and have blankets stuck to my back. That and the old trusty demon pressing me to the bed, but he's not around so much these days either. Though the last two are probably more triggers than dreamsigns. |
Water always seem to dream about it, be it rain or the sea. |
I just realized after updating my physical dream journal that #3 is a recurring dreamsign in almost every dream I had last week. |
The only dream sign that gave me a lucid dream was seeing dead friends and relatives. Really freaked me out when I'm having a conversation and have to ask "wait, aren't you dead?", "Well yes actually I am" - BANG! lucid dream. |
idk if it counts as a dream sign since i find it to b very vague but its people i know in situations we wouldnt b together in. like the last time i relised i was dreaming i pulld out my tin i hide weed in out to show a guy and i was beside my dad, id nvr have it with me around him so i relised it was a dream. also sometimes when i relise im dreaming everyone will disapear or i cant move well, have u ever tried to punch someone its like moving thru molassis |
I don't really have any specific signs, but places and actions which I find recurring in my dreams really help me realize that I am having a dream. Most notably places of nostalgia that I have no place to be anymore, such as an old apartment, or running frantically, an action which is fortunately quite uncommon in my waking life, but unfortunately quite common place in my dreams for some reason. |
My dreams always play out in oddly similar ways. Driverless cars used to be my dreamsign, but now it is just zombies, extra rooms, and different hostile DCs that always use the same tactics to get me while in a nightmare. For example, I was in my classroom like normal, but then I see this man stumbling through the halls. There is a woman that looks just like him in our classroom. She unlocks the door and walks out to allow the intruder-man into the classroom. I immediately become lucid because of the absurdly humorous and paranoid terror that I felt. |
My dream sign are my mom and my school. |
One of my dream signs that I noticed is that I'll find myself in a really BIG room, and it usually resembles my grandparent's living room... weird. |
If there's no letters or words to read or even if I can't read them I can tell I'm dreaming. |
My dream signs are actually Aliens and my Cats |
Swimming baths which once were my dream sign haven't appeared in my dreams in months, it may be due to my drastically dropped recall which is in turn due to my current living circumstances, but it seems to slowly recover now. Huge and special buildings could qualify as dream sign but they haven't once actually made me lucid and they also always looked different. Maybe the dream RPG currently being invented in IOSDP could become a dream sign, time will tell. |

There's quite a long list for me, but there are quite a few recurring themes and dream signs. Most of these don't reveal the fact that it is a dream til after the fact. I suspect that my subconscious likes to hold my mind hostage, and doesn't allow it to become fully lucid quite yet; something I am working on breaking. |
I think I'm almost always aware that I'm dreaming. there is always this little subconscious part of my dream that knows it is not real. I cannot really fly no matter how fast I run in real life, I don't live at this house or that one. even in my nightmares I dream that I am dreaming and so am aware that I am dreaming. I've never managed to control but one or two dreams. and I am usually in the 1st person with a simultaneous 3rd person sub view....mostly the times I don't realize I'm dreaming is when the subject is related to my current situations in life. or dreams involving god.... but my dreams rarely are of those topics... |
Here's mine. I have a nervous habit of checking out the windows once it gets dark out, and straining to see if there's anyone standing out by the tree-line. I do this in dreams too, and I always end up becoming lucid. But when I check when I'm in a dream, there usually is someone standing out there. |
I have only had a couple of LDs, but both seem to have been rather formal set parties (not a real party person). |
I allways know it is a dream if I start worrying about having a paper due. I have been out of school a long while, but still have dreams about it. So, overdue school work= lucid dream. |
Cats are my dream sign too. I've noticed one in almost every single one of my (non-lucid) dreams for the past year, but I have yet to actually use this to become lucid. It's hard to recognize because sometimes it will manifest itself as someone reading a book about cats or talking about their cat -- I've even BEEN a cat. |
I have quite a few regular occurances which make me realise i am dreaming, but i never really take control of the dream. Im still not sure why i don't, because i am highly aware in many dreams.. Just cant tip the balance and become fully lucid for some reason. I have kept a dream journal on & off for a long time now and i started writing a list of common occurances and themes at the back. Im guessing thats what ya'll mean by dream signs, except mine dont bring me full lucidity, just concious awareness. |
