Some people believe that if they suppress their REM, they will have a REM "rebound" of longer REM. |

In the second stage (during wbtb after first half of the night (4,5 hours)) there are also substances and activities that help you prolong REM phases. For example caffeine, nicotine, sulbutiamine, (galantamine), long wbtb, whatever makes you more awake... The trick is fall back to sleep which can be sometimes difficult for many people. But if you make it, you are going to have epic long vivid dreams and if you are experiences lucid dreamer they will be lucid without any induction technique. (atleast for me) |

Because if you supress rem phases in the first half of the night, you will have much longer rem phases in the second half of the night and therefore more vivid dreams and longer and that means easy way to recall them and even easy way to become lucid, if you know how. |
