Recall problem

I have a problem describing my dreams, I can recall them fairly well but I have no idea how to describe them so I can't write them down or say them in a voice recorder.

Hmm I think you are overanalyzing the way to describe and therefore stop yourself from doing it.

Just be general, you are not writing a book! The important thing is that you can relate to the words.

Like if you dream about a super weird looking dragon, just write "I saw a weird looking dragon" and when you read that you will see the dragon in your mind, the whole point of the DJ is not to write some well written story or present in some cool way. The whole idea is to make it relate to you so that you can remember the feeling of the dream when you read it.

What MasterMind said. As long as you can understand what you wrote you can write about anything, don't try to make it so that everyone could understand it in detail, it's your DJ after all.

Though, sometimes i do enjoy writing entries like stories when i have epic dreams+really good recall, if you really want to try that, try practicing storywriting in general, maybe try reading some descriptive stories and remember that in describing various aspects can be used, like comparing something unusual to something more usual. I am not the best person to ask though when it comes to storywriting, haha.

Also, if words do not seem like the best way to describe the dream, you could try drawing maybe, cartooning the dreams? Who said it has to be words in a dream journal, it can be images.

I would say write down everything from the dream, regardless if you think it makes no sense or is irrelevant. Reading the DJ of other members can be inspiring and you will get better if you just start, promise.

One thing that makes it easy for is: write in present tense, as if you are actually in the situation right now, because this is also the way in which you experience your dreams (or any other experience, all is perceived in the present moment, including memories).
