      Lost dream recall

      Please help, I seem to have completely lost my dream recall. Nothing much has changed except may be I started working out more. Suddenly, I can't even remember If I dreamt in the night.

      Dream recall can be affected by various things, but it will be back for sure eventually!
      In meanwhile, read this thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-sign...ompendium.html , as it contains some of reasons why recall might be dropping so you can get it back quicker.

      One thing: working out definitely is not the cause of dream recall getting worse. Exercise usually helps with sleep issues and does not have them worse.

      My dream recall and perhaps yours too seems to go through phases and get better and then get worse and then get better again. Right now I am also in a worse phase, so I can empathize with you quite a bit.

      Make sure to keep up writing in your dream journal even when your dream recall is bad. You can write down what you thought or felt upon awakening if you cannot recall any of the dream.

      What helped me starting out was if I didnt recall anything, I would write "No recollection." If your at least writing something you'll be training your brain that dreams are important and that you want to remember them. Also when you wake up don't let random thoughts intervene. Focus on what you remember. Don't give up!

      Yes, continue journalling even when there's no recall. Write 'no recall today' and maybe write down things you did or food you ate before bed etc.

      Also, you can try using autosuggestion and mantras before bed to help with it. "my dreams are vivid" or "i remember my dreams" etc. good luck!

      Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Here is something I can help with! I started off horrible with dream recall and now I Recall at least a dream a night..

      Basicly when I woke, with no dreams what so ever, I would write down about 25-75 words about the following things;

      That I did not recall anything, how I slept! Good or bad, The feeling I felt as I awoke, And the time I awoke.

      I find that writing those things really helped and made me feel more like I was actually producing something out of the time I was putting into dreaming. The biggest an greatest piece of advice I can give to anyone about dream recall is to stay positive! It helps a lot always thinking that you are getting better because eventually, you will!

      Good luck, and sweet, recalled, dreams!
