This plateau always happens once I get my first lucid

Hey everyone! I'm not sure wether plateau is the right word, it's actually even a downgrade. You see, I've tried LDing 3 times with breaks in between and once I get my first lucid dream in my attempts I just don't get any dreams anymore after that. Well I of course DO get dreams, but I can't seem to recall. Is this normal? What did you do when you experienced this particular occurrence?

Do you mean in the same night, or in consecutive days? I think it's pretty normal. Sometimes I get lucid very often and then as you said, even my recall can get a lot worse and it seems like I don't dream at all. But I still try to write down anything I can remember. Don't despair, the body is not a machine after all. Dreams will come back, and LD experiences cumulate. Good things take time sweet dreams

Dream recall can fluctuate. I don't think it's because you had a lucid dream. Here is more about dream journaling and dream recall. Collection of techniques for DILD.

Sometimes all it takes is a slight variation in your brain chemistry/circadian rhythm and bang: no dream recall. By having a consistent sleeping schedule you'll increase the chances of avoiding these traps, but even then, once in a while they might show up. Keep focusing

Thanks everyone! Not going to let myself be demotivated then. I'm actually going to try something interesting now. I'll be going to bed in a moment, but first I'm going to draw a setting I want to dream in and maybe even use it as a dream sign. I'm going to start very simple so I'll be drawing a stonehenge.

yea hey man the same thing just happend to me i had my first LD about three days ago and iv been realy excited about getting another one but now i dont have any dream recall or anything. and allso does anyone know how long it takes to get another LD after the first?

That depends entirely on the individual tory. Just don't give up and keep trying, also don't slack on your tasks take you took along with your journey to learn lucid dreaming. For example all-day-awareness, meditation or dream journal keeping. Good luck mate!
