yay! I think I know what I was doing wrong!

Hello guys... I had been having trouble with recall lately.. Let alone trying to get lucid. I had been doing autosuggestion before but it didn't seem to work.
Well I think the problem was I had too many different affirmations.. So the past couple days I have been sticking with two. I am going to use those for 2 weeks and then move on to 2 more. So first I'm starting again with the basics, dream recall!
last night I remembered 3 dreams pretty well, one after only 2 hours of sleep in astonishing detail, (for me at least) well here's what I've been using:

My dreams are amazing, long, and vivid

I remember each dream in full clarity.

I also drew a picture of some dream signs and put them on notecards with each quote.. Which connected them in my mind I think. Before bed I wrote them out in my journal as well..
So I hope this helps anyone else struggling as I have been :-)

Affirmations (mantras) are great for many things, including dream recall. You picked some good ones Thinking them, saying out loud, drawing and writing them, it all gives you another instance of 'saying' your affirmation. It quadruples the frequency of you 'saying' them. Some people remember better when they see things, and some when they hear things. So you have been covering all your basis. Good job. And yes, each time you feel happy about your dream and do any dream related activity (mantra, DJ), it tell your mind, that dreaming and remembering them is important to you, and it will help your achieve that.

It doesn't take long to get your recall up. So you may not need to wait two weeks, before you use your mantra for lucid dream. Once your recall is up (sounds like it's pretty good right now), focus on lucid dreaming. Just thinking about your dreams, appreciating them, saying an occasional thank you to your higher self for them, writing them in DJ, should keep your recall going nicely. Happy dreams.

BTW, I deleted you duplicate post

Thanks gab! I think I'm a visual possession and learn better that way.. I didn't think about it that way I will definitely keep up with that..
Now I just need to add an affirmation to have good dreams only because one of my dreams was a horrible nightmare and I woke myself up screaming.. any mantra suggestions?

      Visual person! Lol

I think it's best to go to bed not angry or in bad mood, or scared, since the dream world tends to reflect our mood. Have happy thoughts. You can try and visualize a happy dream. Write and draw your goal in your DJ. What you would like to do in your lucid dream. Think about that and visualize it, daydream about it. That should do the trick.

You know I was reading a book with a rather disturbing ending before bed.. That could be the problem

Definetelly! Anything, that makes good or bad impact on you (and scary book or movie does), can manifest itself in a dream. Try to give yourself some 'buffer time' between scary stuff and your bed time. But even that may not be enough. I have completely stopped watching 'ugly' stuff on tv because I don't want images like that flashing through my mind.

On the other hand, some people find, that it's easier for them to become lucid in a nightmare. Come to think of it, last time I got lucid, was because something unusual happened and it kinda freeked me out and it got me question if I'm in a dream. But that may not be a rule.

Awesome! Glad you figured it out. Hopefully you are back on your way to getting lucid dreams. Good luck!
