Question about details when recalling dreams, and DJ organization!

(Hopefully this is in the right section!)

I am starting to dream journal because I think it will improve my chances of lucid dreaming, and I have a few questions before I put anything in my DJ!

-Firstly, sometimes I can remember huge amounts of details in dreams, whether they're lucid ones or not, but I'm unsure if I should write down everything. Is this a case of "the more, the better"? Is there a certain point where the amount of details won't help your recall anymore, or should I write down everything I can? I'm gonna have lots of time since I'm graduating in 2 weeks, so finding the time to do so shouldn't be a problem.

-Second, what is a good way of organizing dreams in the DV journal system? I'm seeing a system where you can classify entries as "lucid" and such, but what about dreams based on user-made variables like clarity? Are there any examples out there I could have a look at?

Writing brief notes on the highlights of the dream though is the quickest and most simplest way for me to remember the dream. Then once I wake up, I review the notes and enter the detailed dream into my dream journal.
Personally I keep a pen and scratch paper lying around for the purpose of the WBTB technique. Although in the morning after the final awakening, I often find myself scribbling key events as reminders of any fragments I may soon forget; even if the only part of a fragment is say a 'coffee mug', for the sake I could remember further details later in the day when I least suspect. And then after all the smallest fragments are documented I'll go back into my dream journal and write all the details to the dreams I can remember in a story-like fashion. Personally I like to keep the journal entries detailed as much as possible, since the key element to progress is going back over the entries to find dream signs and other similar patterns.

As for the organization, I keep all entries by date. Nothing too fancy.
I am sure though someone else can elaborate more on the DV journal system.
