So I'm curious, what are some people's most common dream signs, and how many journal entries did it take you to realize a pattern?? |

.
I don't use dream signs, but I do tend to have a lot of dreams where I'm running or sneaking away from something. Sometimes I also have an urgent sense of needing to escape, as if I'm being chased. These dreams aren't usually nightmares or heavy in nature; many of them are action- or adventure-type dreams. It probably only took me two or three entries because the commonality is easy to notice, given most of the dream involves this particular "sign" or content. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

My most common dream sign is the location of my grandparent's cabin on the snake river. Took me a few entries to notice this. Although they are frequent, I rarely recognize them at the time. |
|
Since I've been recording my dreams, about half of them have had something to do with our new cabin in the mountains...odd seeing as we don't go there very often, now I just have to realize it while i'm dreaming |

Very interesting. Have any of you been able to become lucid by recognizing these signs? After studying my journal for a little bit, I'm beginning to think I have a lot of dream signs lol. But the most common one seems to be dirt bikes and motorcycles. I am very often on a dirt bike during my dreams or there is one in my dream somewhere. |
|
Hmm, this is interesting... This topic made me think about my dreams, and my dream journal entries. Looking back on them, I've realized that almost every single one of my dreams are at school. Now that I've noticed this, it's actually quite frightening how I have realized this before... I would say a good 4/5 of my dreams are at school (or somewhere related to school, like a school bus ect.) |
|
Wow, that just sparked my memory nexi, Most of my dreams occur at school or pertaining to school. But that may also be the case because I am still in high school, so it makes it more understandable. |
|
I found that a lot of my dreams have transportation in them.. Whether it's a boat, car, plane, skytrain etc. I don't really like using these to get lucid though.. I find it rarely works. A certain hotel that I've been visiting every once in a while, average is about once a year ever since grade 3 or something ridiculous like that (I'm in university now). I've come to find these hotel dreams pretty meaningful, which I almost never do with dreams. And I've only been lucid once with the hotel. It felt really weird and uncomfortable to be lucid in this really familiar (yet artificial) hotel. So I just prefer to let those run their course. |

I don't really have dream signs, only a couple, most common one is writing a text to someone and all the letters are jumbled, or i'm beatboxing but I feel like i'm drunk and can't do it properly |
|
Propably most common for me is school, that's were I usually am in my dreams. I've also gotten lucid propably three times in dreams, because I've noticed something strange about my school. I've been thinking about paying more attention to my school to know, when I'm dreaming and when I'm not. |

Lucid dreaming since September 2011!!!
Lucid goals: Jumping out of a car going at high speed and crashing into an oncoming car, completely destroying the car, leaving me unharmed.[ ],
Visiting moon [x], Proper flying [x], Stabilizing an LD perfectly [x], Shoot lightning/lasers out of my fingers [x], Shapeshifting [ ], Fly a helicopter [ ], TOTY 2013 [ ], Change dreamscene [x].
Lucids: 16 crappy, 15 good, 5 awesome.
I have never gotten lucid from dream signs. Just DEILD basically or just randomly noticing that I'm dreaming. But hey don't get discouraged. With practice comes perfect, some people are naturally good at it while others have to devote much more time towards becoming lucid. At least you have had one already, that means you can have more for sure. |

I have a few that I've noticed occur frequently. Weed was a big one, but since I quit I haven't been able to properly use it as a dream sign since I don't use it anymore, my room mate does though so whenever he smokes I try to reality check. |
|
Weed was a big one for me for a little while too, It did not help me become lucid however because I was so frequently around it in the waking life, even after I was put on probation for it. It kinda would frustrate me when I would wake up and remember a dream where my friends were smoking and I couldn't because I thought I had court the next day, I wish I realized so I could smoke in my dream haha, but also I had several dreams just after getting arrested that I was smoking and would remember half way through a blunt or joint that I had court in a few days, I would freak out not knowing what to do and then I would wake up. I found it kind of interesting that my waking life thoughts influence how I act and what I can and can't do in a normal dream. |
|
My most common dream signs just have to be me driving a car or my former school. I very often dream of my former school for who knows why but why me driving cars? I don't even like cars. Either way you got your answer. |
|
Interesting, I often dream about being at school. Probably because I spend a lot of time there as it is unfortunately. But, as for the driving cars with you I am not sure why you would dream about something you don't like, maybe your sub-conscious is trying to tell you something. It is worth looking into trying to interpret or decipher why that may be based on your dream journal entries. |

My dream signs are trams (streetcars, light rail, rapid tram, stadtbahn) and other kind of trains. |
