      I'm actually getting worse?

      Hi all,

I'm not new to this site but stopped LD which is really annoying as i got quite good!

Anyways now I've started again I seem to be getting worse at my dream recall! I started off OK but now I can't remember anything! and if I do it's only snippets and on the rare occasion I do remember it's very patchy and very very hazy, before I started dream recalling again I remembered loads of dreams!

I'm doing reality checks and stuff (I put a "am I dreaming" wallpaper on my Iphone works quite well!!!)

      hey mate,
there is nothing wrong with you, its perfectly natural not to remember everything in your dreams, it depends on how vivid the dreams are at the time, sometimes i have really clear dreams and remember almost everything from start to finish, its depends on how focused your brain is on processing the things you've though about during the day.
recalling a dream is always hard, you just have to go really deep into trying to remember things.

I would recommend maintaining a good amount of sleep, the more sleep you get, the more vivid your dreams are, it also increases your chance of having a lucid dream.

      Yo.
Were there any major changes in your life when recall went down, especially sleep-wise? If yes, those changes might be the reason, if not, then it maybe something else. Recall is often affected by various things, but eventually it surely will be back, keep up your dream journal and think positive!

My sleep patterns have changed slightly my partner works until 11.30 So i usually fall asleep for a few hours around 10 then go to sleep 12-12.30 latest and alarm goes off at 6.35.

Had a LD couple of weeks ago which is why I thought I will get back into it!

But If I have 8 hours full sleep I still have patchy dreams I think when I first started my Dream journal two years ago I had writers block! and I just pushed through it after a few days of patchy hazy dreams

Dream recall seems to fluctuate a lot for me. Just keep patiently working on it, and you will get better again. Best!

I had two terrible weeks of recall which I relate to having two days each week that were really off my sleep schedule. It is not nice at all so I feel for you.

The thing to do is try to normalize the sleep schedule, go to bed at approximately the same time, and have a positive attitude. You may try a mantra "My recall is good" or "I remember my dreams well". I should do that too.

      Good luck!

Checker666 makes a good point - take that a step further: Any changes in your daily routines from diet/nutrition, daily activity, stress level, life events, etc. Not just "bad" stuff but good/neutral stuff too. Even small changes in what you eat, for example, could be having an effect if it means you are getting different vitamins/minerals.
      Bacopa for improved recall
