      Deadbeatbassist and his dreams

      Hello everyone.

My name is Ben. I am new to the concept of lucid dreaming and have had one. After having this experience I then started doing some research. Through the power of Google I found this site. Now I am exited.

My dream history is pretty empty. I do not often remember dreams and like I have said have only been lucid once. I hope this journal will help me rectify that unfortunate truth.

Let me begin with my first lucid dream. Feb 25th 2009

I do not remember much before becoming lucid. I remember I became aware I was dreaming when I tried to adjust light levels in my English class,it did not work and so I tried it again. Just to be certain I tried it one more time and when it did not work I became very exited and displayed this emotion for everyone in the class to see.

I wanted to do so many things but really did not know how to. I was very unsure and to be honest, a bit nervous, there are parts of my brain I may not want to explore.... I came to the conclusion I was going to make this a very relaxing, peaceful dream and take it very easy.

I walked out of the class into a pretty sweet forest. Big evergreen trees like we have where I live. I started walking around exploring the trees and ferns, smelling flowers. After awhile of enjoying the things I dont take advantage of in my waking life I woke up.

This experience was amazing. I will being trying to have more opportunities to explore my dreams and expand reality.

Hey Ben, welcome to DV I found about lucid dreaming the same way as you, just randomly had one one day

If you really want to learn more, make sure to check out the tutorials. I highly recommend reading these few, they're invaluable in learning to lucid dream:

The basics of the Dream Induced Lucid Dream (realizing you are dreaming while in a dream )
Building up Dream Recall to remember your dreams
Identifying Dream Signs, which indicate that you are dreaming and make you lucid
What Reality Checks are, to make sure you learn to question whether or not you are dreaming

Definitely the best way to build up the memory of what dreams you had during the night is to make sure to write them all down So now that you've started it, you're on a great start Just remember to keep updating your dream journal!

      no dreams last night.

I have a placed a pen and paper on my night stand. I also have changed the bulb in my lamp to a low watt red one. Just enough to see the paper.

Lets see if I will have better luck this night.

Over the weekend I think alcohol inhibited my REM sleep. Tonight I hope for the best.

      Success. One Fragmented dream recall.

I was at work and a coworker came to work that is currently in jail. I asked him how he got out and he said he paid the guard. His eyes looked different. The Iris was an off white.

This is good, one dream recall from last night. hopefully it will only get easier.

Last night I went took a b6 and melatonin supplement. I wont say it worked wonders but it may have helped. I went to bed at 9 and since I did not have to wake up at my normal 4:00 AM for work this morning I did not turn off that alarm. Instead I was planing of writing down any dreams I had immediately. It was unsuccessful. I rolled over shut the alarm of when went instantly back to bed. Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

I did have one fragmented dream. I will write down what I remember. I was talking to my sister in my bed room about this and that, nothing abnormal just usual chit chat. She leaves the room and while she is got I take a pretty hefty hit from a blue bong. At that point I should have known I was dreaming because I do not smoke in my bed room and would never take a hit shortly after my sister leaves the room. My sister then comes back in the room midway through the longer-than-normal exhale and starts bitching at me for smoking in my room. She then acts as if it is no big deal and that is all I remember.

      Its been awhile

      YES

one more lucid dream after a very long time of no dreams what so ever. I will be thanking the blackberry phone I have for inducing this lucid dream. It has a ring tone that is called "Lucid" it makes some pretty sweet chiming noise that I have heard in some subliminal mp3s I have heard. I set it for my ring tone and whenever it goes off I say out loud (if I can with out sounding like a crazy) "am I dreaming" and then do the finger through and reality check.

Well my finger went through my hand last night while I was dreaming. because my dream recall is so bad I will tell you what bits I can remember and hopefully writing and thinking about it will help me remember.

at one point it was raining pretty hard and I did not like that very much I tried to just think about the rain going away and that did not work. Next I tried to spin around and around and try to go somewhere else entirely. That did not work either so I checked to see if I was dreaming again. Yup, finger just keeps going through the palm of my hand but why cant I do anything?

I also remember never going through a door. To get to the next room I would take my hands into the wall and pull open a hole and walked though. That was pretty fun and easy.

Rubbing hands together help me stay dreaming longer. At some point in my dream I felt like I was going to wake up. Which by the way is an odd feeling. I remembered that rubbing your hands together would do something helpful and it was. I rubbed them together and did some more things.

Like I said I do not remember most of it but I remember knowing I was dreaming and trying some new things.

my dreams must be boring to read.
