      ericwd's Dream Journal

This is where I'll be converting the 4am scribbles in my notebook into something more readable.
If i can I'll try to find a decent image to represent something I saw. Or draw something of my own if I'm feeling ambitious. (not exactly an artist so watch out =P)

Any interpretations, similar experiences, jokes, or comments in general are encouraged!

      Scare in the Bathroom
I'm awake during the night using the bathroom with all the lights turned off. I hear a voice coming from the hallway, it seems to be my brother and he needs the bathroom also. This may seem normal, but upon hearing his voice I have an unrelenting sense of terror. The kind of nightmarish terror that occurs when you are confronted with some sort of unknown monster. This caused my heart to pound and body to seize up which also caused me to actually wake up.
It took a few minutes for my body to physically relax.

Don't know what exactly caused it. All I know is that I was afraid of something. It seems like I realized it wasn't actually my brother that wanted the bathroom, but some kind of unknown being.

No Pants, the Lady, and Skiing at the Greater Banks
Seems a bit long but I do believe it was one contiguous dream.
First thing I remember is being a field next to a local road with a bunch of people walking around. It seemed like it was a picnic or graduation party kind of thing. It was around dusk and I'm leaving, but I realize I'm not wearing any pants and have an erection. I sit down on the side of the road, my car parked a few yards away, and try to hide myself with either a blanket or shirt.
Then I noticed Mr. Smith sitting on my left, we didn't interact much. Next, there was a middle aged lady I had never seen before sitting on my right. She wanted my blanked and began to pull at it. I made a weak effort to explain but didn't really care. She was adamant that she wanted the blanket and persistent in her efforts to get it, but not entirely rude. Once she realized I had no pants on she was more understanding and let me have it. Now the blanket was more of a rectangle, sky blue, piece of cloth. I remember thinking of it as a banner. I stood up a little and wrapped myself better with the banner, which now had a thin, short piece of blue ribbon coming from one corner. The lady tied that ribbon to a tiny tree or plant root that was coming out of the ground. I thought it was odd and pulled it loose a little, but not completely off. It didn't bother me much. Then I noticed three of my friends on my far left, out of talking distance: Kevin, Steph, and John. John may have arrived in his car to join the group. They didn't seem to notice me and I didn't make an attempt to get their attention. They were all talking to each other and Kevin's head may have been buzzed.
Out of the sake of conversation, the lady started asking me friendly questions.
"How many full moons have you seen?" she asked. I looked above the skyline (it was now day time) and saw a big, beautiful new moon in the sky. I thought about it, and said i didn't know exactly but probably a lot.
"Where did you get that?" she asked gesturing towards my body. I now had pants on, as well as a jacket, the banner was gone.
"Oh I don't know," I replied in reference to my ski jacket, "Christmas about five or six years ago."
"No not that, that." She said meaning one of the ski tickets I had on the jacket.
Now the scenery was more blue/white, it was snowy and bright out. I was struggling to name the resort I got the ticket at and Kevin, decked out in full ski gear now, excitedly replies, "Greater Banks!" I agree with him and share some of the excitement. I'm still thinking slowly and say something in agreement like, "Yeah..Outer Banks," as if the two terms are synonymous the way Vermont and Smuggs are.
Now the lady is gone. Kevin wants to go skiing but we're worried about conditions being too icy. There was some song that we both knew playing in the background while he was talking, can't remember what it was. He keeps saying that "They could change," being all optimistic the way Kevin always is. =P I follow him to a wooden archway where the slope drops off. I'm in my sneakers and it's slippery on the ice. Kevin reminds me that the conditions can change. I realize i need to get my ski gear which is back in the car. As I'm some how standing up inside the car putting on my ski boots Kevin says something about my brother being disappointed. I think of the psyche meter from MGS4 and how it decreases at moments that are depressing.

Kevin actually says something about the meter and does a decreasing gesture accompanied with the sound effect used in the game. I don't think my brother can handle the bad conditions and will be disappointed if he tried to ski anyways. Kevin reminds me again that the conditions can change.

Ironically the Outer Banks is off the coast of NC, not exactly a good place to ski. (maybe water skiing). So I don't know wtf I was thinking there. As far as I know the Greater Banks is completely a figment of my over active imagination.

      Thus - Jul 24

These were dreams I had after waking up and going back to sleep again. I'd also like to note I'm taking prescription pain killers for the removal of my wisdom teeth which probably had some effects on my sleep.

      Vincenzo's Pizza
Mrs. Smith was driving Chris and I up River Street towards 81. I believe we were going to bowling and she wanted to stop at McDonald's. I didn't like the idea because McDonald's has crummy food, but i figured it was okay since I hadn't had any in awhile. Upon making the left turn at the top of the hill I was no longer with Chris, but Christine, and we were walking towards N. Main Street. I was telling her about how good their pizza was and that we should get some.

I woke up (for real) because my teeth were hurting. I took some Oxycodone and got sleepy about a half hour later. Then this screwy dream happened.

Finding Taste Buds with Captain Janeway
I came to in some odd form of my own bedroom. It reminded me off the Zerg briefing screen from StarCraft only it had a mirror, dresser, and other normal things in it. I went over to the mirror and tried to bite down and chew a little. Amazingly I could! (I should have known better and realized I was dreaming.) I was informed that Captain Janeway wanted me to go onto the surface of the planet we had arrived at and gather some taste buds with her. The taste buds would help the replicators create better food or something like that. We got down onto the surface, it had extremely lush and unnatural flora. Upon trying to gather samples we were greeted by an inhabitant of the planet who didn't approve of what we were doing. I can't remember what it was like, but eventually it turned into a wolf. The planet became more artificial looking, like something from Tron, with square building blocks for the ground. There were several chasms in the ground now. I crossed one by walking over a fallen tree. The wolf was waiting for me on the other side, I was able to hit it on the nose with a flashlight but it only stunned it for a few seconds. I attempted to jump across a chasms to a higher ledge and wasn't even remotely close to making it. It felt like being in a video game as I fell. I soon respawned back on the ground realizing that there was no real danger, after all, it was only a game. (or a DREAM! )

Still no lucidity, but I was rather close with that one. I had a funny feeling about things. It was more surreal than most of my dreams too. The ability to chew should have been a dead giveaway since I'm still completely swollen, but I think I wanted it to be true so badly it was easy to accept. Wisdom teeth suck.

      Alpha Squad vs. Red Squad
So I'm decked out in fatigues, carrying guns, knives, and ammo at some outpost in the forest. Pretty normal right? I thought so. One of my buddies is picked off in a skirmish against the enemy faction who we call Red Squad. Naturally, everyone is outraged, we hold a sort of memorial service for him and plan an attack. As we're getting into position Red Squad counter attacks us. I peek around the corner of a building and am met with an enemy. We both draw our knives and charge in for close quarters combat. I'm ready quick but my skills are sloppy and I'm cut down. I stay down because I know it's proper, he killed me fair and square. I realize I'm not actually dead, it's like a game of paintball, only with knives.

Again with the game thing. Perhaps playing a game, or being inside a game is a dream sign for me. The funny feeling I get when I start to question reality wasn't as strong here. Even after I was "killed."

      Checkout Girl
Very realistic dream. I'm at some kind of store or super market and I have ONE item. (I usually only have one or two things when I do buy something in real life.) I go to the register and it's open! There's no lady in front of me with $200 worth of groceries, or an old lady trying to use a coupon, what luck! So I walk up to the register and the checkout girl is turned around doing something. I wait patiently for a few moments. Then she walks away from the register to attend to other business around the store. Here I am with my one item, and I was expecting to get out of there quickly. How foolish of me. Now I see the girl outside talking to some other customers. I think about just walking out of the store without paying because this is getting ridiculous. I'm about to do it, but the thought of the alarm stops me, even though I'm already past it and almost out the door. I walk back into the store and I believe this is where I woke up.

My dreams seem to contain a bunch of reality checks naturally. Soon enough I'll catch myself doing something impossible.

A happy dream about college! What a relief.

      Running at College
In the locker room I was getting changed into a t-shirt and shorts. This took a ridiculously long amount of time for some reason. There was a bunch of athletes in the room also getting changed and their coach was talking to them. It seemed like they were there for wrestling. He was specifically talking to, or more like chewing out, this one guy about his performance. The coach noticed me and asked if I was trying out or something. I said no, just going to run a little bit. After the coach left I was talking to the one athlete and we decided to do a warm up together before his tryout, or practice. We ran around the indoor track a little. He ran barefoot, I ran in my crummy sneakers and was sliding around like crazy. It was like running on ice, I thought it was because of the worn out treads on my shoes, but it was quite unnatural looking back on it. So anyways, he was a bit quicker than me, the zero traction didn't help either. I felt like I could burn him at maximum sprint but I just couldn't get to that point. There were also these doors at at least two spots on the track. They were big exit doors, the kind used as fire escapes at large buildings. When we came up to them we'd have to press the handle to open it and move through. Odd place for doors eh?
So after running I was having lunch with this same guy. Some of his friends sat down with us. It was nice.

This dream made me all the more excited about going to college.

      Kevin's Apartment
I went over to my friend Kevin's apartment. Ellen was there. We were planning on hanging out all night and just loafing around like usual. It turns out my grandma lives in the same apartment complex, I tried to ignore this fact. We went out, to my house I think, to get stuff. It looked like camping stuff at first, but then it turned into everyday crap. I found my old, way cooler phone, which, coincidentally, looks like Kevin's phone in real life. In the end I was move around so much junk I had to separate it into three piles, one to leave at my house, one to throw in the back of my car, and one to carry to Kevin's.

My friend Kevin does not have an apartment of his own, but I was over his house recently. It looks like my subconscious wants his orange LG enV cellphone.

I've had the missing the bus dream several times in the past. Anxiety about school?

      Missing the Bus
I was in my Mom's car getting ready to go to school. I believe my sister was slowing me down so I decided to leave without her. The bus is already gone so I take a side road hoping to catch it at the next stop. Then I see another bus coming up my street. I call to Smitty to alert him since he had already went down the side road. It turns out it's not my bus number. I saw #110something on it, 119 maybe. Upon getting closer I could see it was, in fact, my (elementary) school bus driver. I go to get on the bus, when the doors open I find I can't reach high enough to get on. The steps are too high, I'm looking almost straight up at the bus driver. Somehow I managed to climb up the stairs and the railing to get inside. It was all little kids on the bus except for Mark. I sat down near him, Smitty was on the bus somewhere as well. We started having a friendly conversation. He mentioned to me he was going to get in a fight today and I should come watch. There was also a mysterious, almost snide comment about Christine and her boyfriend. I wasn't sure where it was coming from or what it meant and I just kind of brushed it off. I remember arriving at the school and looking across the street at the unfamiliar scenery.

The next dream also has to do with school. Not sure if one transitioned into the other or not.

      Arguing with the Hall Monitors
A bunch of friends and I were walking to lunch in between bells. We were seniors and decided to use the back stairwell as it closest. After opening the doors to the stairwell we were greet by the annoying voice of one of the hall monitors/lav ladies. She was arguing with out about not having a a pass. We had a kind of "shut the hell up, I'm going to lunch" attitude. She was powerless to do anything even though she wanter our heads and we basically just walked away from her and went into the lunch room.

That's the kind of bullshit I'm not going to miss in college.

      A Discussion About "Left"
I really don't know how else to describe it. I was having a discussion about left with my friend Ryan (who happens to be a lefty himself). However, it wasn't exclusively about being left handed. It was just the concept of left in general, though hand dominance did come up. I believe he asked me why only a few people use left. (Meaning their left hand.) I answered something, I'd say because the majority of people are right handed, just by nature. (It sounded like an interesting and intelligent conversation at the time! ) While we were having this discussion I was driving, or should I say speeding down 435 towards god knows where. I was going to fast I could barely see the road. A the last second I saw a "right lane ends sign" and merged before disaster. The experience didn't seem to make me nervous, or even phase me. The right lane ends thing happen once or twice more, and then the road stared to narrow with concrete barriers and orange traffic cones on either side. I saw a jump ahead. (Whee ) I was still correcting the steering from the last merge and needed to pick up speed. I believe I made the jump and landed in the bed of an overly large pickup truck.

This is when I "jumped" into the second dream. Looking back on it it seems like they were fairly contiguous. I even remember the jump as the transition between them. They're listed in my notebook as two separate dreams though, so I'll stick with that.

      Crying and Cars
Now I was with Phil and Christine. We all had our own exceptionally nice sports cars and needed to get them back home. On the bed of the truck there was another car, or a quad maybe, it wasn't clear. We wanted to take that home also even though it wasn't nearly as nice as our cars. Phil mentioned something about "using the pool" in our effort to get the cars, and ourselves, back home. Then Christine rebuttaled in a mocking voice about "the thunder storm". Phil realized his error. I looked over and saw Christine frustratingly fiddling with the the quad on the trailer. She gave up and was extremely upset about it. She started sobbing and I went over to comfort her. I rubbed her back gently trying to offer some sort of relief, it didn't seem to help much. Still standing behind her, I wrapped both of my arms around her, one over her shoulder around her body, the other around her head, and held her really close. She continued to cry a little more and I tried calm her down verbally.
After she stopped Phil threw some kind of ball on the ground and it created a small spinning spiral of light. It looked like a mini-galaxy except the edges we're perfectly smoothed and curved. This would, apparently, transport us back home, along with our cars if we drove over it.

I think I miss her and it's really me who needs comforting.

      Drawing Devils
A sort of funny, quick dream I had.

I was sitting at a wooded picnic table with some friends, Val on my right, Gordon across from her. Val and I were drawing stuff. I suggested she draw a devil like I did. I had the basic form down, but it needed detail. We decided to give six pack abs, and huge pecks. I kept trying to draw in the muscles but they never looked right. Eventually, Gordon asked us what we doing and I said, "Drawing devils, you should make one." I didn't realize it at first, but Gordon was, in fact, a devil himself. He looked like Hellboy only..Gordon. Once I saw I laughed and apologized saying how I had forgotten. He wasn't offended and saw the humor in it as well.

That scenario reminded me of Nathan, when we would ask him to smell something, then remember he couldn't actually smell.

      Mon - Aug 5

Haven't dream in awhile thanks to the Uberman. =P Today I had two short ones during my last nap. I was even lucid for a few moments in the first! That's good news for the adaptation. Haven't had an LD in a while.

      Driving Through Walls
I remember being in my car having to back up. I wasn't really watching where I was going, and I just missed hitting a car. Then I just kept going in reverse, but even faster. I could see numerous cars on the road out the front window as I passed by the going backwards. How in the world haven't I hit anything? I thought to myself. Because you're dreaming of course! Cool! I'm surprised I didn't get nervous after becoming lucid because it's been while since it's happened. So to test it out, I decided I didn't want to go backwards anymore. The car started moving forwards down the street. I came up to a building and didn't really know what to do, so I just let the events play out. Nothing much happened, one minute I was outside the wall, the next I was on the other side. Should that have smashed? I thought. I looked at the other side of the building that was approaching and this time the car smashed through it splintering the wood and making a crashing noise. I was okay, even though I was standing on the roof of the car now, or maybe standing with my head out the sunroof. I tried to pass through the wall of the next building without damaging it. It worked! I passed though it easy, as if it turned into something viscous for the second I contacted it. I was psyched and for some reason I wanted to try and pull myself through the roof of the building head first. I tried but it didn't work. It felt like a blanket over my head. (Wasn't sleeping with a blanket btw) Then I woke up, or at least I thought I did. It could have been a false awakening. Looking back on it I can't tell for sure, but I know the 20 minutes weren't up at this point.

      It's not mine, I swear!
There was also a shorter non-lucid dream after that one. Basically I was over a friends house with my beloved laptop. I went away for awhile and when I came back my friend's mom came over to say hi. For some reason porn kept, subtly, popping up. Odd places like the menu bars of Firefox had tiny pornographic images on them. I tried to close the programs but there was always more. I had a feeling this was happening because of another person who had been near my computer when I left momentarily.

I would like to mention that I was watching The Matrix right before the last nap. Great movie. I forgot how similar being in the Matrix is to being in a lucid dream. Well I started to nod off when Neo was getting ready to go save Morpheus, that's when I realized it was time to take a nap. Perhaps the concept of questioning reality had helped me realize I was dreaming. My advice to people who want lucid dreams: watch The Matrix. =)

      Tues - Aug 5

Another quick dream during the 20 minute sleep cycle. Wasn't lucid and didn't seem to be any more vivid than normal, but I'm glad it happened.

I was in my room with Ris and Christine. We were studying for a test or doing homework or something. Christine was ready to go to sleep, Ris wanted to keep going until she was finished or found the answer, and I didn't care because I only sleep 20 minutes at a time now. =)

      Thus - Aug 14

This happened while I was taking a nap. It wasn't a scheduled nap, and I think it was too long, but it was way worth it. Just look at this dream.

You can call it Fall, but I say I like Autumn
I was in my house and it was time to go to bed, so I did. I started to have a dream (this is now a dream inside a dream ) This is going to sound really confusing. In the dream-dream I went to Dream Views, to jot down a note in my dream journal I think. The only word in the post was "love" but I was having trouble spelling it. Loove, lovve, lov and so on. I think this is how I realized I was lucid, cause I couldn't spell a four letter word (though I wouldn't put it past me). So I tried to remember DVs lucid task and came up with going to the beach because I didn't check what the tasks for August were. *face palm*
I decided to try to the dream spinning technique because it had worked for me in the past. I started spinning, but it felt more like rolling side to side as if i were lying down. The current scenery disappeared and I thought of the beach. Nothing happened. Was I awake? It did look suspiciously like the inside of my eyelids. I slowly opened them, yep I woke up. (Looking back on this I realize it was a big fat false awakening. *big face palm*) Sure enough, I was in my bed, but my room looked odd, sort of orangey and wooden. The weirdest part was my brother was also sleeping at the other end of my bed, propped up slightly against my leg. He was mumbling something about a girl. He often talks in his sleep so that wasn't too weird. I rationalized him being there somehow, move away a little, then got out of bed. I went over to my computer and did something. Now a video was playing, I can't recall what it was but my brother came over and started watching, I closed it out and headed upstairs. The stairs appeared exactly as they do in my house. On the right wall b the staircase there was a somewhat long message wishing me a happy 18th birthday. It was eerily written in bright red lipstick, or maybe even blood, the way you would see it written on a mirror in a horror flick. I almost accepted this, but then I realized it was Aug 14 (too bad I can never remember the date in RL, eh? ) which is nearly a week after my birthday. Then my grandma came down the stairs to hug me, now I understood, it was all her doing. She told me it was special and I should be able to celebrate it longer than usual. She was excitedly talking about our plans to eat dinner somewhere. I got the picture of The Inn at the Abingtons, or some kind of similar buffet style place. My grandma mentioned it was her favorite place, although they had gone downhill. She told me she lost a friend there, and that they also stained one of her best outfits that she would always wear when they went to eat there.
Next, once I was upstairs, I remembered leaving an MRE somewhere. It was on the roof. I decided to get it before we left. Someone, (PJ's mom??) offered me help getting it down. It turns out she happened to have a some kind of cherry picker/backhoe type vehicle parked near our house. How convenient! I walked over to the machine and climbed onto a seat at the end of the extendable arm. It had those restraints that suspended roller coasters do, the kind that go over your shoulders. They were really big for me but that's okay. The arm was extended out already, and she needed to retract it to move. I started flying back, impossibly fast, and for a long time. The arm would have been about 1000m long if this were real. I started to slip out of the seat. Once it was finished retracting, I pulled myself on better, and then she started spinning. Again, impossibly fast. Around and around several full rotations, I have no idea why. It was kind of fun, but I again I was slipping out a little. More importantly I was coming really close to some trees on the side. On the one pass, I was sure I would hit them. I closed my eyes, and nothing happened. I just kept spinning. The thought of passing through objects did cross my mind momentarily because it's one of my favorite things to do in dreams. But I was quickly distracted from this logic, by my shoes! They were slipping off because of all the g force. Slowly but surely, I felt them loosen, then one right off, then the left. After this it stopped spinning. The cherry picker/salt & pepper shaker put me down. Now there was a long cloth attached to the seat. I took it and needed to place the other end on the roof.
Even after all of the excitement, the cherry picker was still across the field to the side of my house where it was in the first place. I started walking with the long cloth in hand. I noticed that there was a ton of tents set up in this field. It looked like a lot of them belonged to us, my brother must have been playing with them. (In reality we only have one tent, and I did notice it in the city of tents I describe here.) All the effing tents made it difficult to move the thick cloth through, I think I was running out of slack too. Then I found a half eaten handy snack, bread sticks and cheese, at the corned of the building next to my house. I picked it up and considered eating it for a second since it was probably mine in the first place. I'm not sure if I ever made it to the other side of the house where the item on the roof was located. I think I may have gone to the backyard instead. I saw that my family was going over our next door neighbor's house for dinner. I picked up a rake that was buried in leaves, I needed it to do something to the roof. This, however, was next to our chimney, an entirely different spot than the first thing on the roof. I thought about what a pain it would be, having to rake all the leaves that were soon to come. Then i remembered how pretty it gets in the Fall. I decided Fall was my favorite season. I pondered why, and came up with a surprisingly intelligent reason. The transition to Fall is a favorable climate change (for me at least). The transitions to Winter and Summer are uncomfortable changes, they're too extreme. Spring is a pleasant change too, I thought, but I'm plagued with terrible allergies then, so I would rather 3 more months of harsh Winter to be honest with you. Autumn is the best. Plus that's when Halloween is, which is by far the coolest holiday. All this was running through my mind as I walked into our neighbor's yard. Their dog was out, but it looked enormous, good thing he's friendly.

The title is proudly taken from the lyrics of a Barney song if anyone is wondering. (1:45) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlXwzvc7vlo
I just realized how absurd this was after reading it again, it all seemed to make sense at the time.
I still can't believe I picked up on something as little as a typo/device failure (more like brain failure actually) but I didn't notice any of that bizarre stuff. I almost noticed passing through the trees, but look! Shoes! Ooooh

I had a few dreams last night but I pretty much lost them all. Only one I remember is being caught in a rip tide. For some reason it was a strange sort of tide, much larger and stronger than a typical ocean would have. Also, I wasn't far out in the water, I was right on the shore line, but just kept tumbling because of the force of the water pushing me down the beach.

Had some cool dreams last night. It's nice to have dreams again. (Stupid Uberman )

      Teeth Falling Out
Classic teeth falling out dream. I can't remember the setting much. The most striking detail was, of course, my teeth falling out. The whole bottom row was gone, and everything except my incisor teeth on the top were gone. I remember grinding my teeth for some reason and feeling something loose and hard in my mouth, the kind of feeling you get when there's a bone in a piece of meat you're eating. I wasn't eating anything and realized it was one of my own teeth. This happened with several other teeth. Once they were in my mouth, I felt compelled to bite down on them, as if to check how hard they are to make sure they were actually teeth. The funny thing is, I was easily able to chew up my teeth like they were clay. I felt really upset about losing nearly all my teeth and eventually figured out it wasn't real. If I wasn't so depressed about it I may have stayed lucid but I wanted to wake up and get my teeth back. Upon awakening I snapped my jaws together a few times and was happy to hear the sound of my teeth hitting one another.

      New Friends
I wanted to try using my meal plan at someplace other than Bentley, so I tried this other building, it may have been the PUB. The man at the register said I could as long as it was $5 or less. If it was anymore, it would be deducted from my flex dollars. After paying, I walked around and saw a Chuck E. Cheese type environment, it had little kid arcade games all around. On the outside walls were shelves that reminded me of Sam's club, only shorter. They had all kinds of goods there, but really nothing to eat as a meal. There was a lot of candy, but I didn't want to eat that exclusively for a meal, so I decided to leave without taking anything. Once of my new college friends called me, it was probably either Mark or Clayton. We were trying to get something to eat, and see a movie. I have this vague memory of choosing between four gummy clowns. (Yeah, I don't get it either.) It had something to do with the movie. Somehow I met up with two old friends and decided to take them to meet the new ones who we're behind the PUB, or whatever building it was that I spent a meal credit at. I thought of what I would say to introduce them and realized that they were both named Kevin. I met Mark inside, dunno if I ever got a chance to introduce everyone.

      Saving a Ghost
Pretty weird dream. I remember two people, a man and a woman. The man was the antagonist. Somehow the woman was turned into a ghost, or some kind of misty apparition. She was being contained in this thin tube, which may have been on the inside of a car hood. I felt it was my responsibility to help her escape. I remember using some kind of circular looking trap, the kind of thing in Ghost Busters to trap the man. For whatever reason that wasn't enough. I needed some kind of access code. The woman handed me a roll of scotch tape. I looked at it and saw it had numbers written on it in crayon, all the colors of the rainbow. This was apparently the access code. She wanted me to hide it, and use it to free her when them man wasn't looking. We tried to stick the tape above my bed, but it wouldn't stay. I never have exceptional dexterity in dreams.

I think the teeth falling out and the candy from the second dream have some correlation. Before going to bed last night had some of my roommate's Sugar Babies, which are possibly the best thing since canned bread. While eating them I also realized I haven't brushed my teeth in a while, and that if you left a Sugar Baby in your mouth over night it would probably rot your teeth out. Coincidence?

I remember hearing that having your teeth fall out is a common dream among people. I personally don't remember ever having it. Most generalized interpretations say something like this. Having your teeth fall out means you have anxiety about your appearance, how others perceive you, sexual impotence, and getting old. I dunno about getting old, but the others fit fairly well since I just started college. I won't lie, I do care what others think about me. That's probably just because I'm trying to make friends now. Everyone is a new person, everything is a new environment. I'm surprised I don't feel totally overwhelmed. But as of right now, I do have a few people I can call friends comfortably.

Then there's the ghost dream. I don't get the ghost dream at all.

      College and Saying Goodbye
The dream started with me on my way to Tuesday lab. About halfway there I realized I wanted to wear my heavy metal chemistry shirt and I had forgotten. There was about 15 minutes before lab started so I thought I could make it. I hurried back to my room and changed. The shirt was white (when in reality it is black.) I don't remember going back towards Ulmer for lab. Instead I believe I ran into some of my new friends in the hallway. I said goodbye to all of them. Next, I remember being in the honors house, which looked a lot like a night elf building. Inside were some more of my friends and people in the honors program. I particularly remember seeing Brian. I was saying goodbye to all of them as if I were leaving. Not leaving because I flunked out, it seemed like it was the end of the year, though only I was leaving.

      Mario Kart
I was in a car, not sure if I was driving it or not, but I was the only one inside. First, I was speeding along a highway. The car went through one tunnel, and then another, they were both extremely short and a little curved. I knew where I was going too, the second tunnel was expected and familiar. After the second tunnel, the road became ice. Not the typical winter icy road, I mean the road itself was made out of ice, the way it is in that one Mario Kart level. So, needless to say, I had even less control on the ice. The road curved to the right, on the left was a cliff. The guardrail wasn't one solid piece, it was made up of icy blocks about five feet long. When I slid into them, they fell off the cliff. I made it past the ice road without too much difficulty.

I've had several dreams about uncontrolled driving before, so this wasn't too weird. Good thing I don't drive at all in college
