Semi-lucidity; I am aware I am dreaming, but I am content to abide by the rules.
Lucid Dreaming.
I already have a few dreams saved to my computer, so here they are:
Unknown Date; Attacking a Grocery Store
(First Person) I find myself in a grocery store. I am part of a military unit attacking the store.
ME: Where are people to kill? I want to kill someone!
Every civilian speaks spanish, I barely understand them. (I am currently going into the class of Spanish III.)
I carry several guns -a pistol, an m-16 (I think), a grenade launcher, some assorted other guns, and a few bottles of coca-cola in a plastic bag. I also have a red and black duffel bag full of unknown things (clothes?) and an unseen backpack.
Several times I put the duffel bag and plastic bag down to raise my m-16 and just look around with it, pointing it menacingly, while I am on one knee.
A hispanic man nearly steals the plastic bag. I pull out the bottle of coca-cola, shake it, and spray it at him. He runs off, and I recap the coca cola.
I walk past several girls in uniform at a table, selling cookies (I think). I realize that I forgot the plastic bag and my duffel bag from where I last menacingly looked around.
I rush back to see the man stealing the plastic bag. I use the coca cola bottle trick again (despite having already killed the carbonation by using it once), and he stops. He puts the bag down, but takes out the pistol.
At this point he says something I don't quite understand. I reply (I can only remember saying "es"). Finally he makes it clear that he needs the pistol to protect his family. I say "tienes lo" ("You have it." Not sure if that's proper grammar, though). He understands and takes the pistol.
I take my bags and go back to the girls. Next to them is a loading dock. I go out to see an army truck (no canvas roof, though) with the rest of my unit. I am wearing green, while the regiment is wearing blue (could be the other way around, not sure). I get the impression that I was supposed to be the scout, or at least the first guy here, but somehow I was last, and they cleared the place before me. That's why there weren't any enemies to shoot.
SOMEONE: Where have you been? We've been waiting for a while.
Later on, as the truck is driving, someone else, proboably a good friend, says: Coca Cola bottles?
ME: As suppression.
FRIEND: Yeah, I use them as grenades.
ME: No, I use it like a gun.
FRIEND: I can never aim it like that.
ME: You have to be very close to the target.
(Dream 2, same night.)
I was going to my elementary school, only everyone there was grown up as I last remembered them. (I changed schools for 9th grade). I can only remember my friend Brennan specifically, along with a lot of other people that I can only vaguely remember, but the person that really mattered was Heather, who I tried several times to woo. (I think I still like her.)
(Dream 3, same night.) The unit and I, out of uniform were rock climbing. We got to the top and there was some sort of metal box. It was rectangular and had two doors at the very top that swung away from each other. Almost like a supply locker on its back. I opened it. (I can't really remember any more).
(Dream 4, same night.) (Probably because I watched The Tuxedo that night) I was unpacking the red and black duffel bag in a hotel room that was shaped like a T, with the beds in the - part, and on either side of the opening for the | part, wall to floor dressers, with more dressers going down the |, but the | had a foggy ending - a black fog - that I couldn't see (I sort of just knew it was there. Odd.). I remember I unpacked some t-shirts, (can't remember this part) The man and I had to switch clothes or something. It wasn't like it was a gross thing, it was perfectly natural. (can't remember the rest).
Friday, July 20, 2007; The One With the Bird-Thing
(Can't remember how I got here) I was flying high above Cincinnati, trying to find my way home. I saw multiple bridges, and I was searching for I-275 (Which I don't actually think goes through Cincinnati). I finally just picked a freeway and flew down to it.
ME: This is Montgomery. I think I can get home from here.
I cross a bridge and get to a bend by a hill off to the left. (I think it was this hill with a cemetary that I drive by on my way to school only without the cemetary)
ME: ...No, maybe not.
I fly back over the bridge, only to realize I went to the wrong one. It's a railroad bridge! I desperatly try to fly over to the pedestrian side to avoid any oncoming trains. I can't quite make it to the side, but no trains come. I fly back over to Cincinnati. (Something happens here)
(I realize now, because I am flying, that I'm dreaming. I'm cool with it, and don't bother to do any fancy lucid thing.)
I fly to a wooded ridge/hill with houses on it. I fly down to a white, square-ish house with a deck that has stairs curving down the ridge and looks generally nice. There is a modernist feel - floor to ceiling windows face the street and the back along the deck. I go in through the garage.
It's Dad and Debbie's house! (My parents are divorced, my stepmom's name is Debbie.) I have to go to the bathroom. After I finish, the house starts to tilt over.
Me: That's odd.
Dad: Oh no, he (I can't remember the actual words, something along the lines of upset the balance).
Debbie: Quick, fill the tanks!
They hurriedly turn on the sink and start squirting soap down the drain, too. The house slowly rights itself. Turns out that the house is hanging far over the edge of the hill, balanced by large bags of gas. The slightest imbalance will tip it.
Later I was standing on the porch with Dad (I think Debbie had kicked me out of the house by then).
ME: I can fly.
DAD: What?
ME: I can fly.
DAD: You mean like that car over there?
ME: What?
He points at a dark gray car from approximatly the 1940's with its lights on, sure enough, flying above the treetops.
ME: Yeah, but I think the mechanisms (to fly) are slightly different, though.
DAD: Oh.
ME: I'm going to go now.
DAD: Where?
ME: Home.
DAD: Bye.
ME: Bye.
I fly off of the porch, leaving Dad standing there, his hands folded, leaning against the rail. He looks lonely.
(Later)
I kept on flying with my friend (Some sort of talking, large bird, I think).
FRIEND: Oh look, a marsh. Let's land there and rest.
ME: Okay.
We land on a grassy, wheaty, cattaily island. There are trees on one island over. We (somehow) are on that island now. We walk along until we come to black boxes with a yellow diagonal face that has two red holes and two blinking lights. The make a perimeter about two feet away from the water, with the holes facing outward. I go near the perimeter and a powerful wind blows, but I am still able to go through.
ME: What are they?
FRIEND: Airfences. They keep out unwanted animals, but let wanted ones through.
For some reason, I get the sudden impression that now hunting season is about to start. Perhaps it is because my friend is panicking and sweating, etc.
FRIEND: Um... let's get out of here.
ME: Okay.
We fly off over a resovoir. High above it, suddenly both of our abilities to fly just... give way. That clued me in about the hunting season, too.
We drop like rocks to the resovoir.
ME: Crud, I can't fly anymore again (In a previous dream, a disembodied voice told me that there were laws in my dreams now, and suddenly I couldn't fly). What to do, What to do, what to do? Uhhhh, swim?
~Splash~
My friend is gone. The hunters are closing. I start to open and close my mouth, like a fish, in hopes of throwing the hunters off. The hunters walk past me. ...But a fisherman drops a line. I need to breathe soon. I really need to breathe, I can't help it, I breathe in! I know I'm going to die as my mouth fills water; and then my lungs fill with air.
ME: Okay. Can't fly anymore, but I can breathe... underwater. Whatever.
(Can't quite remember this part). I am now some sort of weird slug/fish thing, and I get above land. I see the bad guy from the fifth element. I hide, knowing that he'll come after me. I'm in a city now. It's mostly brown. I decide to change shape, so he won't come after me. Now I am like a robot, and my arms come down to a treaded wheel, which is hard to turn. I robot along until I see the guy again. He's closing. (End of dream memory.)
July 21, 2007; The First Lucid One!
Dream 1)
(Third Person)
I'm walking past a farm. It's got corn. I go down a path to where there are stables. They could be sheds, too. Each can fit one horse, and they are close together. Beyond the stables is a fence, and then a forest. The ground looks overgrown.
A farmer comes up to me.
FARMER: Hey, you aren't supposed to be here!
He starts throwing mud at me. I duck behind a stable/shed thing. I look out past another fence and see the road. I run to the fence, navigate through barbed wire, climb over the fence, and run down the road.
The road turns into a road on a subdivision street, and young kids, 6 or 7 year olds, are playing a game. There's a red kickball involved in it.
A garbage truck thunders past, blocking my view of the kids. Despite it having passed, I still can't see them, or the other side of the street. I go in one of the houses on my side of the street.
(Dream 2)
(First Person)
I am in some sort of house. I think. The walls, floor, and stairs aren't connected.
ME: Okay, something is out of whack here. Reality check. Uhh... fingers.
I look down at my hand.
ME: One, two, three, four, five. Yep, five fingers. Wait a second. There aren't any fingers on my hand! I just counted to five! AHA! GOTCHA!
I look down. I can't see my fingers. I can vaguely see a dark palm.
ME: Okay. What do I want to do. That old man. (I had a dream with a wise old man in it. I wanted to talk to him again.)
I jump from the stairs that I'm on to a ledge.
ME: I'm looking for the old man!
No one responds. I fruitlessly search the house. I finally see a window.
ME: A window. There's a street outside. Let's try down there.
I jump out the window. I am on an street in what loooks like a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm wearing pirate clothes, there are ships at docks, the houses are from the 1600-1700's, etc. I walk down the dock, up some stairs, and spy a zipline. I zipline down to a parking lot.
There is no sign of the zipline or the docks. There's a wire fence surrounding the lot, with a guardhouse. The lot is deserted. Plenty of cars, though. I feel like I'm being stalked, so I run from car to car trying to hide.
I'm woken up by my mom because it is 1:05 pm.
The Week of Tuesday July 24 to Sunday, July 29
(Vacation! I went to the Oshkosh airshow. It was awesome. I'll tell you the cool parts. There was an F-22 raptor fly-by, several stunt planes, although I liked the Collaborators (Promotional Video, check it out! Note: there's an ad before the actual video) the best.)
Okay, back to dreams. I had three, and I forgot two, so I'll tell you the last.
The Crazy Toothbrush Dream!
I was in our RV that we had rented to see the airshow, desperately searching for my toothbrush. I knew that if I couldn't find it before the RV started to go, I'd never get to brush my teeth.
I look in the stove; nothing. It's not in the bathroom, the sink, the cabinets, microwave, shower, computer room (although there actually wasn't a computer room in the real RV, there was in my dream), it isn't anywhere.
Suddenly I am awake, for real. It isn't a False Awakening (at least, it sure didn't seem like one). But, I still am searching desperatly for this stupid toothbrush. I have the idea that it's in my bag. I turn around and see it lying on top of my bag, where I left it.
ME: Oh! There's my toothbrush.
I promptly fall asleep before my head even hits my pillow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And that's it. The only thing I can remember about the other two dreams is that they were adventure dreams.
Monday, July 30th The Tiny Stargate
(This was my first OILD (object initiated lucid dream) attempt. It didn't quite work right. You are supposed to hold an object, and then picture that object in your head, and then... I didn't read the rest of the tutorial, I had a better idea. I held a model of my own imagined stargate - it's rectangular, brown and functions exactly like the one on the show Stargate. Only, it has minor changes. I imagined it in my head, fell asleep, and woke up at four AM without a single dream. My plan was that I could just imagine myself going through it and then voila, lucid dream! Nope.
So then I stayed up for an hour, just thinking to myself, lucid dream, lucid dream, over and over until I finally fell asleep. That worked.)
The Tiny Stargate (first person)
....aaaand WHAM! Full lucidity.
ME: Sweet! It worked!
I am outside my house, which now has a nice large plaza outside of it, and still is in acres of woods. I remember how everyone has difficulty flying. I do my crazy jump thing that I do to normally fly. It works, only the controls are a little screwy - I end up flying feet first. I land and my dream is now very fuzzy. I rub my hands together. It kind of clears.
I remember the task for july is to go through a portal. I somehow teleport into my house.
ME: Wow. That was disorienting.
I am in the kitchen.
ME: Okay, around this corner there will be a stargate.
I walk into the front hall. Nothing.
ME: Option 2. HEY MOM!!!!!
Nothing.
ME: MMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool. You can yell as long as you want to in dreams. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She comes running.
MOM: What? Why are you yelling?
ME: Where's the stargate?
MOM: Go downstairs, turn left, turn left again, and then it's the first door on your left.
ME: Why does it have to be so complicated? Ugh.
I walk down the basement stairs, and turn left into the main basement area. I start to lose the dream again. I rub my hands together. It doesn't quite work.
ME: Vividness!
WHAM! Suddenly I can see each individual grain on the carpet, and every last line on the wooden boards that cover the walls. I'm sure that I was smiling an ear to ear grin in my sleep right now. I turn left again. There's the door. I open it, and it leads to the garage.
ME: Wow. That's wrong. This is supposed to be a full story above here. Geez, subconcious, not to knock you, but....
CREEPY DISEMBODIED VOICE: Fine.
I look behind me. The garage, which I still am in, is in its proper location. Apparantly, my subconcious can speak to me in my dreams. Creepy.
ME: Wait. One more thing I wanted to do.
I close the door again.
ME: When I open this door, this dream will last six hours. (AGH! Stupid me. I forgot to say, "but in real time it'll last only one hour." I was trying to distort time, you see. Thread about time distortion. [If you write in red, are the hyperlinks still blue?])
I open the door and go into the garage. I think I got lucky that it wasn't some other room. I scan the shelves of crap. AHA! Right next to the leafblower lies a five foot by five foot brown stargate. Significantly smaller than what it should have been. I pull it out and set it on the floor.
ME: Oh crap, I need a DHD. Okay, in one episode, they just spun it by hand to make it work.
I begin spinning it. The chevrons start to light up. Oddly, they're blue. (The stargate has a bunch of symbols on it representing locations. You dial and activate the stargate by stopping the correct symbol under a chevron, a triangular thing that lights up orange. You have to spin it.) It's getting really hard to turn this stupid thing.
ME: Why does it need to spin, anyway? It's totally nonsensical. AHH!
The stargate activated suddenly.
ME: Here goes nothing!
I jump through, and come out of a stargate that's embedded in the ceiling of a grocery store. I look around closely.
ME: Holy crap, it's the grocery store, the one from the grocery store assault dream! (see the very first dream)
There are a few key differences here. No crazy spanish speaking people, no enemies, and I don't have a gun. I look up to find that the stargate is gone. I start to ask random people if they are dreamviews members. No such luck. I see a door. I enter it.
~~~~Section ommited due to Extremely Personal Content~~~~
Suffice to say that I'm not lucid after that. And then I wake up.

The Race
~I need to get this dream from paper to electronic still. Be patient!~
August 6th, 2007 The Sutternaltian Dream
I'm in a bathroom. The fact that I was consciously thinking about this same bathroom minutes before, when I was awake, occurs to me.
ME: Hey, I must be dreaming.
I wander around the bathroom until I come to a wall full of sinks. In fact, there are three walls, aranged in a semi-corner situation, full of sinks. A man stands there. We have an engaging conversation, of which I'll spare you, about how bullies have been tying people to urinals.
ME: Well, it's going to be okay, because I'm dreaming.
MAN: What?
ME: I'm going to go try the portal thing again.
I have to rub my hands to keep the dream going. I approach a sink and raise my arms toward it. KA-POP! The handles come off and water starts to spray me. Soon it starts to spray around me, and I feel myself starting to get sucked in, when I realize I'm losing the dream again. I rub my hands together. The vortex stops.
ME: Hmm.... Okay. Approach two.
I jump in a toilet with the intent to flush myself down it. I then hurriedly jump out again; there's a crocodile in it. I try the next one, with the same result. I look at all the toilets. Most have baby crocodiles in it. Three have tropical fish. I try a fish one. Nope; a crocodile jumps out. The last one is empty. I try to jump in that one. Crocodile.
ME: Well, isn't that annoying. Fine, we'll do this YOUR way.
I leave out of the bathroom door. I find myself in a school.
ME: Huh. That's odd. No Heather. I can never seem to have a school dream-
I move without realizing it, and I open a classroom door across the hallway.
ME: - without Heather. Oh.
Inside the class are five random kids, a teacher, and Heather, the girl who's in all of my school dreams. I kinda like her. At this point I decide to try my dream control theory.
ME: Come on Heather, let's get out of here.
I grab her hand and we leave the classroom, turn down some random hallways, go through the cafeteria that's in all of my school dreams. In teh hallway outside the cafeteria there's a wall with a red stripe in the hallway outside on the bottom of the cafet... screw it, I'll just draw it in paint. Oh, great. How do you upload an image?
Nothing important really happens there anyway. We exit the school. We see everyone flocking to another school. We are drawn, as if magnetically, to it.
ME: That-th-this isn't good. (Weird, I've never had a stutter before. Hmmm....)
Heather has mysteriously dissappeared, like all my friends in dreams seem to do. I'm still being drawn to the school.
Creepy Female Disembodied Voice: HAHAHAHA! Nothing can get past the pull!
ME: All right. Hey, wait a second, I've got jet boots!
And I do. I tap them together to try and activate them. They do, but they are too weak - I thought about how powerful the pull was. Stupid me!
C.F.D.V.: HAHAHAHA!!
ME: Hmm.... Aha! Jump jet infantry! (Too much command and conquer.)
I activate my jetpack, and I 'jump' into the air. (This isn't how these things work in command and conquer. Odd.) I keep on activating it, allowing the controlled bursts to rocket me away. They are just powerful enough to overcome the magnetism. I land.
There is a great big tree here. A building is next to it, with a very wide walkway to a building next to that building. The walkway forms a sort of tunnel, with hundreds of people in hammocks. The people are somehow tied to the hammocks without any ropes touching them. Also, the first building is tied to the tree. There are buzzsaws working at the tree.
C.F.D.V.: HAHAHAHA! The branches are too thick! Nothing can cut them!
ME: Obviously someones never heard of a Sutternaltian cutter (long story)!
The buzzsaws, which are unseen, kick into high gear, and an orange glow can be seen near where they are cutting. The branches fall like butter. I have to dodge them as they fall. I move to the hammock area. I cut through the unseen ropes with another sutternaltian cutter. I've lost full lucidity. I turn right after the hammocks.
SOMEONE: MISSILES!
There's a slot for missiles in the wall. They fire. I kill the slot with another Sutternaltian cutter. I turn right into a hangar area. A model spaceship is being assembled. I know that it's my way out of here. I finish it, and now I'm inside it. It looks like the interior of a house. Malcolm's mom and dad from Malcolm in the Middle (link) are arguing. I wake up.
