My Ultra-Plasmatic Lunar Dream Journal

      Welcome to my dream journal!

If someone out there actually reads any of this, please feel free to add any comments you like. In fact, if you are taking the time to read this you are strongly encouraged to ask any questions or make any comments you want. Why not subscribe while you're at it?

Lucidity is now in BLUE so that you can skip the really boring stuff and go right to the slightly less boring stuff.

Dreaming that is NOT lucid is now in GREEN as opposed to my commentary which is still BLACK.

Here are my DREAM GOALS in no particular order, I will add more as I think of them. If you do any or have done any please tell me of your experiences. Some are former tasks of the month, others I came up with. When I achieve or attempt one the journal text will be MAGENTA.

      Spoiler for Uriel's Dream Goals:

      Mystery

Towards the end of a long dream (I won't bother with all the events leading to this, because they logically have no connection even though they were in the same dream) I found myself alone in a small lunchroom in a school I'd never been to. All the lights were off and it was dark outside. Across the room a radio was playing and I was sitting on one of the cafeteria tables thinking things over. I had a lot to think about because I was apparently going to have a son. Now this part is weird so stay with me... the radio said "Mystery Revealed" only it didn't produce any sound, the words appeared in the air like subtitles on a movie screen. Within the dream this meant that "they" had transmitted knowledge to my unborn child ("I know Kung-Fu" kinda thing). Except this knowledge was deep meaning of life stuff, something I myself would never have been able to know or teach my kid. So I started to think about what I could teach him, and my mind wandered and I thought "Wait a minute, who is the mother?" I thought about my ex-girlfriend and remembered we hadn't seen each other in too long for it to possibly be her. Slowly it dawned on me that this wasn't real and I wasn't going to have a child (didn't go lucid though) and I woke up. It's a terrible feeling when something like that is just taken away.

This is the second time I've had a dream like this, only in the first one my imaginary kid was actually there.

      Donut From Hell

Many many dreams last night, but only one was Lucid! :aphiusisonecrazySOB: I'm in the kitchen of my parents house and I notice something odd on the counter. Imagine a donut, with no hole (like a jelly donut) and lots of little octopus tentacles coming out of it.

So I go to the other room to get something to remove the creature when I think, "That sure is weird, like something in a dream." And so it was. I went back over to the thing and now found it very amusing. Did some spinning, jumped out a window, tried some flying and had many FAs. Fun night

      Mario Matrix

Another lucid dream! My frequency is going way up, I'm very pleased. In this dream I was being pursued by someone. There were a lot of other very strange circumstances that I won't go in to. The person who was chasing me finally had me cornered in some run down building in the woods, and I was hiding underneath a big table or maybe some fallen construction material. He was standing there looking at me, but couldn't quite get to me. I found small scraps of wood with nails in them all over the floor so I started tossing them at him. Problem was, every time I picked one up the nails would poke into my hand and I could barely throw them.

And then, the voice of Morpheus spoke to me: "You're faster than this. Don't think you are, know you are."

Lucidity kicked in and I start throwing those scraps like throwing shruikens in Shinobi, leap out of my hiding place and jump on the guy. And by jump I mean Mario-style, right on his head, flattening him into a comical pancake.

After I had eliminated him the scene changed. I tried to fly and spin but woke up very quickly.

Thanks and thanks for reading it!

Things became more clear mentally speaking. I didn't really notice a change in how clear my sensory perceptions were. That comes with spinning.

The best way to describe it is like waking up, but still being asleep.

      Love

As usual, I won't go into the specifics here, but I had a very strange question asked of me by a random dream character. She said, "Do you love?" Just like that... not "Do you love me?" or "Do you love cheese?"

My answer was personal, but I'll say I interpreted her question as meaning romantic love. When she heard my response she gave me a real weird look, like I hadn't understood her at all. I wonder what she meant.

      Sex and Lawnmowers

I just woke up from one hell of a 2 hour nap where I had no less than 4 lucid dreams. My recall is getting really really bad (it used to be so good) but I'll try to remember as much as I can.

This is hard to explain, but the first dream was like a dream of a lucid dream. Once I realized it was a dream I became truly lucid and everything vanished. This seems common with me. I tried yelling "High Level Lucidity!" which didn't do anything for me but it was cool because it was the first time I remembered to do it and I had wanted to for awhile. Anyway I couldn't accomplish anything in the void so I moved onto another dream where I was non-lucid again.

In this dream I was being pursued by 2 men. One was in a big truck and the other was on a riding mower. I was in my own car. I knocked the truck off the road with my fancy driving and then ended up outside my car, and the truck had become a very large animal the guy was riding on. It was somewhere around here I became lucid. He tried to run me down but I grabbed the animals leg and flipped him over my shoulder and into a ditch. I then attempted to pull out a gun, which didn't work, but I decided to ignore the fact that there was no gun in my hand and pretend to fire anyway. It proved effective and I eliminated the giant animal and the guy riding it, before sliding my invisible gun into my belt. My memory is spotty here, I was about to do something to the guy still after me on the mower when I thought "He can't hurt me now. I should just stop him and try to ask him some questions." Somehow he was gone after that.

Now I had at least 2 or 3 more dreams I can't remember. Only that at the beginning of every one I would look around and think "This isn't real, I'm still dreaming."

In the final dream I was in a very large building, like a conference center or something. There were a lot of chairs and people wandering around. For some reason I found Christa Miller (of Drew Carey and Scrubs fame) sitting alone in one of the chairs. Now I've never really had a thing for her, so I'm not sure why she showed up. Maybe its because her name is so similar to Kristen Miller of She-Spies and my subconscious just got a little confused. Anyway, knowing it was a dream I leaned over and kissed her. She was very into it and ensued.

Thus ends my lucid dream dry-spell
I just woke up so please ignore typos and lame descriptions (as usual). Hopefully I'll remember more and add to this post later.

      Uriel's Dreams: The Musical

      Another lucid.

I'm sitting in a police station in some sort of waiting area with my father. I don't remember why we're there or anything leading up to this. For some reason he grabs my front teeth and starts squeezing them causing me intense pain. (I have a lot of dreams with tooth pain, glass in my mouth, teeth shattering, etc. because I grind my teeth while I sleep.) I keep trying to pull his arm but to no avail. He's getting up there in years but he's a farmer and is still much stronger than someone who has devoted most of their life pushing buttons and eating steak. The whole time he's got this real crazy look in his eyes. He seems conflicted, like he wants to stop but can't. Somehow I finally free myself, jump out of my chair and yell "Arrest him!" A police officer walks over and sees me bleeding so he puts my dear old dad in cuffs and takes him away.

Oddly my father going crazy and being hauled away by the cops doesn't seem to bother me and I walk over to a receptionist and tell her I want to get to a dentist to fix my teeth. She says she'll make a call so I walk over to a different waiting area. As I'm standing there I realize I'm dreaming. I have absolutely no idea how I came to this conclusion, but there it was. I walk back over to the receptionist and she fades away right in front of me. Now, this police station happens to be in a very tall office building, at least 30 stories up. I walk over to the window and jump right through, shattering the glass and free falling all the way to the pavement. I wasn't trying to fly or anything, just thought it would be fun to fall. I get up unscathed and decide now it's time to fly. No trouble taking off at all this made me very happy. I soared over the city for awhile, enjoying the moment and how amazingly real everything below seemed.

Sometime after that I lost a bit of lucidity because I ended up back on the ground without remembering how, but I was still in the same city and still technically lucid. There was a girl there in the street, she was a good distance away from me. Maybe 30-50 yards. She had a kind of punk look to her and she was pretty attractive. We starting singing to each other, like in a musical. I don't remember the exact lines, but we were flirting in song. I took off again, and flew right along the ground at her, scooping her up in my arms (yes, like Neo.) We landed on a bench, I kissed her and poof... I woke up.

The dream ending there was a little disappointing, especially since I felt more for her than just wanting some
Oh well, just a dream character, right?

Wow, I've been very lazy about dream journaling (and posting in general) but hopefully that will change.

I have had many LDs since my last post, I think it's safe to say 1-2 a week at least. I'll throw in a few highlights here...

      Eviction Notice

I dreamt that I had said something to offend one of my roommates (what was said wasn't actually offensive at all, but the character took it that way) and both of them started harassing me to the point where I was going to move out. I'm not sure how, but I became lucid. The dream characters knew the jig was up and they ran for it. I chased down one and got him in a head lock, then ran with him after the other while still holding the first. As I was running he turned into a doll and I dropped him to continue my pursuit. The character ran around a corner and I knew she was heading outside so instead of following her path I just ran straight through the walls. This is something I never even considered doing, but I was in the moment and I knew I could so I did it. She ran into the woods so I flew up to get an aerial view and decided that flying was more fun (also I find falling good fun now) so I spent the rest of my time doing that.

      Classified

In another lucid dream I was being flown to a top secret Russian military facility. I'm not sure why, but I think it had something to do with my ability to LD. I was with someone else who could too and when we were walking around in the facility we were being careful not to use any "powers" because there were security cameras everywhere. This was a very strange dream, because I knew it was a dream but I didn't realize it enough to know that none of it was real and I could have completely changed the setting.

I have dreams sometimes where I'm stuck in very high places and there's no way to get down. I had one a few nights ago and I wasn't sure if it was a dream or not, but I jumped anyway. I didn't have much fun in that fall but I consider it a triumph over being stuck and scared.

That's all for now, hopefully I'll have another to post real soon.

Wow, it's been awhile. I have had lucids between now and the last post but of course I don't remember much now. I'm definitely getting better at questioning my surroundings, but sometimes my dreams are so literal it's almost impossible to go lucid.

The point of this post was to share with the 0 people reading this a strange experience I had a few weeks ago. This was during the time DV was down and I posted this on LD4all's forum, but I want to make sure I record it here.

Ok, see that post 4 posts up from this one? The short one with "Do you love?" Well I opened up Steven King's "Skeleton Crew", a collection of short stories, and lo and behold on a page all by itself in the front of the book was "Do you love?" I'd never read the book before, it wasn't even in my house. Now of course it's a quote from one of the stories in the book. A story in which a character in a dream asks that of the main character. Weird.

I think though, that I understand what my dream character meant when she asked me.
Tonight's the night. And it's going to happen again, and again. It has to happen.

Yeah it is a shame, but like I said, I've had more than are here, just can't remember them. And it's not all bad. Before I came here I had only had 2 in my entire life and had no idea how to make it happen again. Now I don't worry about it, I know the LDs will come as long as I give it enough attention.

      The Void

Hello loyal readers! I've had a few lucid dreams since my last posting, "lucid moments" might describe them better, since they seem to end very quickly. I had two last night and I thought one was worth mentioning here. Lately I had been thinking that when I go from a bad dream (for example some monster chasing me) into lucidity the first thing I do is fall back on my Matrix skills. I never stop to realize that my power extends far beyond that; that I can change all of reality instantly. Well, finally last night someone or thing was after me, I became lucid as I was running and remembered this idea. I stopped running, held my arms out and shifted everything to a white void, it was pretty cool.

I finally had another dream worth posting here!

      Succubus Override

It began with me waking up in my parents' house, that should have tipped me off right away but it didn't. When I woke up for some reason I thought that it was my birthday, again another obvious clue since my birthday is 3 months away. I went looking to see if anyone was around but the house was empty. As I was searching I noticed it was starting to get gray outside like a storm was brewing. I went into the bedroom to use the phone to call my grandmother's house to see if they were out there (her house is within walking distance) but when I picked it up the line died. Thinking that the impending storm knocked out the phone, I figured that the electricity would be next to go so I started gathering candles. By now the storm was there and day had turned to night within a few minutes. I walked to the front windows and saw a white minivan in the driveway. There were people inside that I didn't recognize, and the man in the back seat was trying to yell something at me. I moved closer to the window so I could hear him - "There's a succubus in the house! There's a succubus in the house!" Right away I know the demon is behind me. I turn and it lunges at me, a blurry dark shape, I think it may have had hands but that could just be me adding details later. Of course I would get the succubus that wants to skip the sweet lovin' and go right to tearing my throat out. I leapt backwards into the window, crashing through and pulling a shotgun out of nowhere. I fired and everything stopped, I was outside myself looking at the frozen scene. Glass was flying, there was a huge muzzle flash and the demon was still flying towards me. At this point and maybe a little before I knew it was a dream but really had no control, which makes what happened next even weirder. A cursor pops up and a menu drops down. The cursor goes to the bottom of the menu and selects "System Override" As soon as this happens I wake up instantly and completely alert, it was like being shot out of a cannon.

I'm back. Good to see the old DJ is still around after almost 4 years. For some reason I felt drawn again to lucid dreaming and have had 4 in the past couple weeks. I find that coming here helps to keep dreaming on my mind throughout the day. Anyway, on to the dreams:

      Space Flight

The first started as a long non-lucid dream that I became aware of. I ran outside and all the characters were gone. I seemed to be in my grandmothers backyard, but it was much different. Most noticeably there was a swimming pool. Sadly I forgot to try to walk on water (more on that later). I tried flying but I was having a bit of trouble, I'm embarrassed to admit it but I jumped up and flapped my arms. As silly as I must have looked to any DCs who may have been watching, it worked. Once I was up I had no trouble at all and blasted Superman-style into space. I twisted around peacefully in the zero gravity until I started to feel my bed forming underneath me and then I woke up.

      Memory Challenged

I don't remember much about the second one now (I didn't start keeping a pen and paper journal until a few days ago ) except that I was on the road where I grew up, and I was trying very hard to remember what it was I wanted to do when I became lucid. I have quite a mental list but I couldn't think of any!

      Not Quite Jesus Material

Yesterday morning I had 2 lucid dreams. In the first I had a false awakening and did the nose test (worked great, first time I've ever tried it) so I knew I was dreaming. I floated straight up out of bed but was mostly paralyzed. I tried to sit up and look at my toes but some force, like a magnet, was keeping me rigid. After that I actually woke up, went to the bathroom and then back to bed. I woke up again, nose tested, and I was dreaming. I got out of bed and I wanted to go outside, problem was my bedroom window was now 20 feet tall and the curtains wouldn't open. I looked up and could see a space at the top where light was coming through, and I knew if I could get up there and see out I'd be able to get out. So I jumped and jumped, each time getting a little higher until I got to the top. When I looked out I saw a huge lake. It had an odd shape, because I could see some shore lines close and others far away. Everything was very bright and vivid. I jumped outside and landed on a concrete walkway. Most of the lake had a natural shore but not here. Where I stood was a couple feet below the water, and I had to take a step up onto a ledge to be at water level. I remembered the walk on water task, and I also remembered that it was last month's task but I wanted to try anyway. This was a big deal for me since it's very difficult for me to remember things I wanted to do in lucids and usually end up just flying around. I thought, "What if I can't do it?" and then I thought "I'll either walk on the water or I'll fly away, no big deal." So I step out, and I think I kinda did it, because I didn't fall in until both feet were over the water. So plop I went and I swam to a shore. Across the water I saw a gas station and there was some confused old man looking for someone. Things started to break down after that as I kinda got pulled into his story but I really don't remember anything else about that dream.

Why be embarrassed? Thats one way to fly. As long as it gets results, right? Sometimes a psychological prop is helpful to achieving one's ends.

I notice the occultist name and icon. Nice to meet you.

I'm not really embarrassed, otherwise I would have just left that part out. Usually I need some way to work around things, like pulling objects from places I can't see rather than making them "materialize" in front of me.

It's nice to meet you too, and I appreciate you reading and commenting.

      My Third Eye Needs Contacts

Last night I had a dream about a guy from high school, we'll call him Jim. I've had a lot of dreams about Jim recently. We used to be good friends but I haven't seen him for awhile. Another friend from high school, we'll call him Fred, told me Jim was getting married this summer. Well I never got an invitation and being as I invited Jim to my wedding (he didn't come) I've been kinda obsessing about it. I don't remember much of the dream because I decided I would write it down "later" and now it's almost 3 in the morning and its a bit fuzzy to say the least.

We were in a restaurant and I remember asking him why he didn't invite me, but I don't think I got an answer. Later we were out in the parking lot, looking for my teal car (I don't actually have a teal car). We were far from the restaurant and I saw a shady looking guy coming toward us wearing a brown trench coat. I knew he was going to mug us, but for some reason I was not afraid and went right up to him. It gets really blurry here but I did something to him (punched him maybe?) and I became lucid.

Instantly everything about the dream was gone and I shouted "High Level Lucidity!" I remember being very aware that while I seemed to be yelling at the top of my lungs, my body was silent in the waking world. Then I shouted "Third Eye Open!" or "Open Third Eye!" and concentrated on my brow area. Nothing happened and I woke up shortly after.

Even though I didn't have any results I'm very proud of myself for actually remembering to try that. Before I did it I also remembered that I wanted to attempt to summon Eris, but I'm still too scared to do it. I'm not sure why though.

      Animal House

I was in my parents' house, I think, it was very different. We were in the basement. Usually when I'm in their house in a dream it is laid out like it is in life. My wife was there and we had a baby with us, only it was a lamb, not a person. The lamb was butting me in the legs and I was upset because I didn't want him to be aggressive like the other rams. My parents have a farm and I got knocked around by a big ram once. Very scary. Somehow I ended up upstairs in a room near the front door. I think I was looking for my lamb/baby because he was lost. I remember my wife standing in the hall telling me he was fine and was asleep in another room. Where I was there were lots of strange cats. I looked in the closet and there were a couple cats sitting on a shelf. When I turned around one of the cats jumped onto my back and dug in with his claws. I fell to my knees and the cat ran into the hall. Now there was a scaffold there and my old cat Kyle was sitting on top, looking down at the other cat. I told Kyle to attack and he jumped down and went after the other cat. At this point all the cats started running and I opened the door so they would go outside. After that was over I went into the kitchen, which was mostly the same as it is in the waking world. I looked under a stool and there was a two dogs there. I think one was a beagle.

For some reason this caused me to become lucid. I remembered my dream goals and thought "I need to find Eliza Dushku!" So I ran into the living room, which was also like real life now rather than the weird dream house it was before, and I woke up.

So the moral of the story is, take time to increase your lucidity before running off for some or you'll be sad. I think before I attempt any of my goals, sexual or otherwise, I need to work on staying in my dreams longer.

Strange dream last night, with no obvious meaning to me. Kinda dark, don't read it if you're sensitive... (he said, knowing that would make more people read it)

      Honorable Death

I was with a group of soldiers. We were a ragtag bunch, I don't even think we had guns. They wanted to stop some enemies, problem was all we had were horses. The enemies were in jeeps with automatic rifles but we had to do it anyway, for honor or something. So we chased them down. There were only two jeeps and my men charged them from behind on horseback. Within seconds they were all gunned down. I had kept my distance and now, even though my men didn't kill anyone, there was only one enemy soldier left trying to shoot me. He was too far out of range at the moment but I knew I didn't stand a chance so I fell and played dead. The soldier approached me, I was scared that he would shoot me just to be safe but he didn't. He bent down to turn me over and I jumped up and grabbed his throat. I remember quite vividly the sensation of choking the life out of him and how my fingers felt on his neck. I didn't want to kill him but I knew it was him or me.

Unbelievable amount of lucidness last night. For some reason it is very difficult for me to remember, its very frustrating because it was soooo long and I remember during the dream thinking "I need to remember so I can write all this in my journal. I had a lot of false awakenings in between.

      Reiki

I tried to do Reiki on myself again, this time with more interesting results. I held up my hands and tried to focus my energy and I could see circles on my hands where the palm chakras are supposed to be. There were these weird little cartoony portraits of Japanese guys within each drawn only with black lines. They both had surprised expressions like but with open mouths. They also moved slightly, like Harry Potter paintings trying to stay still. It was not the result I expected but I held my hands up to my forehead anyway. Later after more lucids and FAs I remembered again and tried once more, this time only the black circle outlines of the portraits appeared and I tried to heal myself again.

      Fragment

In another dream I was trying to fly but having a lot of trouble. The more I think about it the more trouble I have. I think I was in my parent's neighborhood.

      Descent

The most memorable moment of the night was when I had a false awakening in an unfamiliar house. I walked over to the front door and opened it to see nothing but blue sky. There was a passenger jet a little below us and to the left. It was flying upside down and there was a transparent line above it where the world shifted directions. Seeing all this made me very happy as I thought "No way I can't fly now" and I jumped. I was falling straight down, and I quickly passed through the shifty area. I had my fist out and was smashing through planes, space shuttles, space stations, and these weird floating buildings. At first all I could see below me was blue but as I fell farther the ground started to come into view. I smashed into the ground at full speed, shaking the dream world. I stood up and I was, once again, on my parent's farm in a field. I walked through the field for awhile and for some reason I thought that one of my lucid goals was to turn into a dragon (it isn't.) I got down on my hands and knees and tried roaring and hopping around imagining wings growing from my back. It mostly didn't work but I think I got bigger.

This is all I can remember right now, I know there was much more. I doubt my recall will improve later today either. The FAs really messed me up. Each time it made it much harder to remember what preceeded it.

      Lucid Fragment

I was in my bedroom and I saw a menacing shadowy figure in the doorway. I knew I was dreaming and was excited at the possibility of a fight. I started to transform but everything broke up or I've lost my memory of it.

Its hard to explain what I mean by transform. When encountering a hostile or evil dream character I attempt to unleash the evil within myself and even try to absorb theirs into myself. I know that some, especially those who believe that there is more to dreaming than subconscious desires and anxieties, might regard this as a dangerous practice. I'm not saying that it isn't, but it works for me. If you do believe that dreaming only takes place in the mind, I would argue that doing this helps you accept and deal with problems your mind is struggling with.

I became lucid using WBTB. This seems to almost always work for me now. I was in a basement with a bedroom. I decided I was going to work on my Jessica Alba dream goal. I made her appear in the bed and I kissed her. We started but she kept shifting into different women, some I knew, some just seemed to be random creations. While we were doing it I kept trying to change her appearance to what I wanted but every time I would get one part right, something else would change. Eventually she just disappeared. I got up and didn't want to lose lucidity, so I shouted "High level lucidity! High fucking level lucidity!" which for some reason was really funny to me at the time. Noticing a light switch across the room, I want over to turn it on, thinking that it probably would not work since I was in a dream. Much to my surprise it did. I thought since I couldn't get Jessica right I'd try something else. Since I had just watched Heroes last night Hayden Panetteire was a good choice so I walked out of the bedroom expecting to find her. I had to walk around the staircase, but there she was. I looked at her for a moment and adjusted her appearance to be more correct. Her face and body looked perfect, but she was wearing these black lace gloves that went up to her elbow, not something I put there. The gloves didn't concern me as much as getting the character right so I held out my hand and said "Hayden." She looked at me and I could see on her face she was pissed, I was really confused. She started to run away and run upstairs. I tried to follow, calling her, but she wouldn't listen. I woke up.

I don't feel like I accomplished either goal, but just remembering them is good. Also, I have never changed a DC's appearance so this was a good step forward. I have no idea what Hayden was so upset about, maybe she was jealous of Jessica.
