I conducted a few experiments about 2 years ago, where I'd agree to meet a person I know IRL in a dream. For the record I don't believe in the existence of souls, and I'm an atheist. But a way to motivate ourselves to attain lucidity was by agreeing to meet at a certain point and tell each other a secret word that the other didn't know in Waking Life. (There was no need to be dreaming at the same time, since time doesn't exist in dreams anyway.) The idea was to think of our own secret word and try to induce lucid dreams.

In that experiment, we had to meet at an obelisk in Buenos Aires. The girl I was conducting the experiment with never actually got to the obelisk, but I did, and I saw her there. I wrote about this experience under, "Missions: Secret words": http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...howtopic=39530

It's been a while but I'm trying again. Not with the same girl, but with a group of people I know here. Four, to be exact. We all have a word. Mine is the same I always use. We've agreed to meet at Plaza de Mayo square here in Buenos Aires, in front of the Presidential Palace (the Pink House).

This will be a journal of my efforts to meet these people, and others, in my dreams.

<div align="center">EXPERIMENT NO. 1</div>

Date: Saturday, Nov 11, 2006

Time: 6:40pm - 8:15 pm

Preparation: 1 hour of aerobics

Place: Bedroom, dim, bed

Position: On my back

Induction: WILD

Aids: Alarm clock

I used a WILD method the first time. Last Saturday, during an afternoon nap. I first did some exercise to feel tired, then I lay on my back. I repeated the names of the girls I would meet, and the name of the place. Each word was accompanied by the mental image of their faces or the place. I did this &#39;til I fell asleep, trying to push all irrelevant images out of my mind.

I had set the alarm clock to ring within an hour, in case I should lose lucidity and have to try again (and to avoid wasting the whole afternoon sleeping...). When it rang, I had still not started dreaming, I was just falling asleep. When I shut it off, I remembered the mission again (instead of breaking my concentation, it actually served to remind me of the task, because I think my mind had strayed by then). I was able to WBTB. But everything was so dark in my room. I made an effort to project myself to Plaza de Mayo. I purposely avoided looking down at the bed and seeing myself sleeping (it would scare me&#33.

Almost instantly, I had a view of the globe. It was kind of dark, I could barely make out the continents. I said to myself, I want to go to Plaza de Mayo. And I descended at an amazing speed, it was like Google Earth&#33;&#33; I could see the continent, the country, the city, the lights. So many lights. And I was at Plaza de Mayo. I saw one of the girls, I told her my word, both in English and in Spanish. I was euphoric as I asked her for hers. She just looked at me seriously though, and said, "each of us must find our own path". I was discouraged and tried to find another girl, but then I was beamed up to space again and I could see the globe for a second time. I then descended into the Caribbean, where I quickly lost lucidity for the rest of the dream.

More to come on any new developments.
