Sorry if I screw up anywhere, this forum style is new to me believe it or not O.o
Anyway heres one of my more famous dreams, I generally remeber a lot of details:
Well, I was in the dream, it began with a pod-like craft being sunk in the water, and suddenly I was in a room. There were other people in there with me, they were soldiers, it was obvious from the armor and guns with flashlights on them. It was one of those things where I swore I knew them as if they were friends in real life, but now that I look back on it its kinda eerie that I cant recognize their faces. It was very dimly lit, the walls were a faded yelow color with rust stains on near the cieling, and as I watch on of them opened the door. They brought their rifles to bear and we walked into the next room, it then became clear that we were in a warehouse; there were large crates stacked here and there and the lights were brighter, with that annoying droning buzz that high-wattage bulbs seem to have. It was very reminiscint of a level in a video game I played once...
They all moved forward towards a door at the opposite end of the room, while I took up the rear. When they opened the door however, there was nothing beyond it, just pure darkness, but it did not phase them and they continued through it nonetheless. I was frozen for a moment because I did not want to go through there, and I called after them (I still remember one of the names O.o ) "Kelly!" was what I screamed, and then ran to the door and called after them. They did not respond, I couldnt even see the glow of their flashlights. The light from the doorway gave a visible field of that extended out maybe 10-15 feet, and there wre stairs outside of the door. 5 steps to be exact. I went down them and went a little into the darkness, but I was too afraid to continue, so I turned back to the door; it was the only thing around me that emited light, so I trotted back up the steps and into the Warehouse.
I walked in and heard someone call my name, so I turned toward the sound of the voice and saw one of the soldiers standing there; helmet gone and his shirt bloodied up. He said to me: "Oh thank god your alive-" when suddenly this thing jumped onto his back. If anyone here has played a game called Half-Life before, its the closest thing i can compare it to; it looked a little like a head-hopper, but it was easily 4 feet long and had razors on the end of its feet, with its legs twice as long as its body, like some kind of weird four-legged spider. Anyway, the thing was on his back and it dug it the razors on its feet into his shoulders and back. The guy started screaming, but all of a sudden stopped, and started lunging after me like some kind of zombie. I dunno where it came from but the next thing I knew I was holding a shotgun (appearently my subcouncious forgot that you have to pump 'em ) and pounded out a round into the guy, and he danced as the shotgun tore him apart. I wont get into specifics, but it was quite messy O.o .
'Its not safe in the light anymore' was my first counscious thought, and I turned toward the entrance way and ran through it, into the darkness. I mysteriously turned on my flashlight (I was obviously not lucid dreaming or it would have occured to me that I did not have a flash light before-hand ) and aimed it at the floor, It was so dim it was frustrating, but it seemed like an LED flashlight because it was not a golden beam that signifies that its dying but rather a faint white light. The flashlight was fine, but everything seemed so damn dark... I ran into the darkness, the flashlight waving back and forth as I ran, the floor was ike Obsydian although not as smooth and shiny, and there were pools of a black oil like substance here and there that I stepped in, and it splashed; so it wasnt very dense. I aimed the flashlight into the area above my head try to find a cieling, but the best I could do was make out massive pillars of the same rock that made up the ground, black monuments rising into the air with a black void as a cieling. The light from the door faded to nothingness and eventually I heard a voice say "You're alone now..." but then I woke up before I could run any farther.
Yeah, I know, thats a lot of detail in it, but thats why I figured it was worth mentioning. It was easier to remember too because it woke me up before I could hit another dream and forget it. Actually I took the dream to heart and wrote a short story called Starship Maritime
