Please help me understand this dream!

Last night I had a dream that my grandmother who died 4 years ago died again. In my dream she and I had to go live in a homeless shelter. When we got there we were split up after tons of searching I found a room with no lights but could hear a lot of people fighting inside. When I finally reach the room, a guy was walking out and I asked him if he saw my grandma and he told me she had been killed (in real life she died of natural causes at 85) I tried to get into the room but couldn't get in so I went upstairs to the roof to try and get in that way but could only see the light coming from the room. I woke up before I could get inside. What does it mean?

** Just to be clear initially the room was dark when all the fighting was going on but by the time I had made it to the roof it was the only room that had a light on.

In my personal opinion dreams are there to help you get over things or prepare for future situations. I think that deep down you may not have accepted th death of your grandmother. And maybe the light comming on symbolizes your acceptance in your subconsious.
