I don't know if you're still around, but I would like to intepret this dream.

i just wanted to let you know that it occurred while i was away at college during my last semester. i lived in indiana at the time.

The Dream:

This dream, reported by the dreamer known as Saber326 occurred on or about July, 2008, and was posted on the Dream Views forum on July 4, 2009 with an open request for interpretation. I volunteered to interpret the dream and requested some additional biographical information. Saber posted that information on July 6, 2009, and I interpreted the dream as reported in this document. Below is a cut and paste of the dream as dictated by Saber:

It started out me and my family on my father's frind mike's houseboat out on lake cumberland which is a very large lake. I also brought the blow up boat. (its a motorized inflatable boat about 8 feet long). I caught a really strange looking fish. It looked like a giant trout with an empty body cavity. Blue and green on the mouth with black spots on the mouth. I brought it back to the boat and then I was going to go get the rest of my fishing supplies on the shore. But I couldn't find the blow up boat. So we moved the houseboat closer to shore and we thought it was an object that appeared to be submerged. Then we got a hook the retrieve it. It turned out to be a human spine with some ribs on it. Then we found the blow up boat deflated. There was a big storm or something. I inflated the blow up boat as much as I could. Then me and my brother went out on it. I told him the water was too rough for 2 people. We were getting a lot of water over the bow(front of the boat) crashing through big waves. I noticed something beside us that looked like the back of a whale except with no fins. It began following us and we were afraid it would sink us. My dad yelled to us and told us we were going to sink the boat so we went back to the houseboat. We went back to mikes boat and there was some kind of old pirate game inside one of the rooms. I opened the box and I think it was the fish that turned into a huge dragon or maybe it was the whale like creature in the water. Its head was about 15 feet wide. Its body was very long must have been at least 300 feet long. It breathed fire also. We were all terrified of it. It came to the boat facing the front of it with its head about 15 feet out of the water, and we tried to kill it. We shot it several times with guns right into its mouth. You could see where the bullets penetrated the inside of its mouth. Yet it seemed to do nothing. Then the dragon went back underwater. Then I think I opened the game again and somehow I became a dragon. This really scared me because I didn't want to be a dragon. And then somehow there was a very hot planet or star or something headed towards the earth. And then somehow mikes houseboat was a space ship. I think it was on the hot planet that there was some sort of chamber or cave with a pirate and someone else that wasn't human. I cant recall its features. They were talking about the game and the box had pirate written on it. And the alien guy said what if the humans have this? The pirate replied theres no way they have this on earth. And then the hot planet was moving closer to earth. Mikes space ship was in the way of the planet. He got away in time. But then what was going to happen to earth? With my new abilities as a dragon I had to push away the hot planet. I think this may have been part of the game. Once I completed the task I found myself human again and back on mikes boat. I went to go look at the box with the game that said "pirates". And then that's all I remember.

The houseboat in this dream represents your soul. The body of water represents the Divine. That you caught a fish means that you have brought a simple animal up from the depths into the more rarified air. Air represents a high spiritual understanding in astrology. This is why the symbolism of fishing is often used in the Gospels.

Notice the fish has an empty body cavity. There are no vital organs yet it lives. Thus the fish indicates a spiritual entity, and that you are examining it represents you examining the state of your spiritual development at this time. Not to mention its mouth is blue-green, which is a color representative of sprit. Consider for instance the line in the song by Fleetwood Mac, Silver Springs: “You could be my silver spring, blue-green colors flashing…”

However, there are black spots in the blue-green color, and this color surrounds the mouth of the fish. This indicates that this dream concerns a spiritual development issue centered on how you communicate with others.

You find a human spine with ribs. This of course is a decayed human, but in the context of this dream it represents the death of humanity. It’s not a warning—it’s a lesson. This dream is trying to show you the cause of the death of humanity, but not the physical death, rather it is the spiritual death, because this dream is all about spiritual development.

The problem of communication that you are having is what results in the spiritual death of humanity.

And what is your reaction to this lesson? You try to abandon your soul. Which means you are trying to avoid this lesson. You try to get into the smaller boat and get away, but a storm ultimately prevents that. A storm on the water, in this case, represents the forces of your default fate acting upon you.

As you are out on the water you see a wale without a fin. It scares you and it follows you and it is threatening to sink you. The wale represents a particular behavior that is causing the communication issue that is threatening to sink your soul back into the depths of the water where simple animals live and the bones of dead men are waiting. What is this?

Your father calls you back to the houseboat. A parent in this case, especially a father, represents a moral code that you have. Basically, this moral code is that you believe it is wrong to run from spiritual development. You are not the type to deny your issues, but rather you know you must face them and work on them. So you go back to the houseboat; in other words, you go back to work on your soul.

And what do you find? Rooms. These rooms represent aspects of complexity in your soul. In this case, one of the rooms contains a game. A game represents a contest. And what a contest it is. This game represents a little known paradox I will explain in jut a moment. But it’s a good sign that you play the game, rather than being played by the game. This is a very positive sign.

Notice that when the contest begins, when you open the box, the wale turns into a fire-breathing dragon and you can’t tell whether or not it’s the fish or the wale, because it doesn’t matter. The combo fish-wale represents your spirit afflicted by this communication issue that is represented by a fire-breathing dragon. And you are frightened by it. The fear is a good sign; it represents a spirit sensitive enough to want to change. And is it any surprise that this desire to change is represented by you shooting this dragon in the mouth with a gun?

You go back to the game, and now you become possessed by the dragon. You become the dragon. This is a lesson element. Notice what happens next: You are taken into the heavenly realms—literally, your soul is taken up into the heavens. The bright star planet represents the forces that are trying to bring you this lesson, that are beckoning you to deal with the issue.

On this bright, hot planet is a cave and in the cave are a Pirate and a figure you can’t make out—an alien figure. The Pirate is a Christ-figure, and a Christ-figure represents the transformation of man from an animal into a God. He is represented by a pirate because what does a pirate do? It boards your boat and takes over. In other words, this spiritual evolution takes over your soul. The alien is your Higher Sprit. You can’t make out the alien’s features, because you don’t recognize them yet, but you will. The game called “Pirates” therefore represents the contest for your soul as this communication issue affects it.

And no big surprise: the dragon tries to stop your current world from being destroyed. Of course it would, it doesn’t want to be destroyed. It would rather see you follow your default fate as a spine and some ribs sinking to the bottom of the Divine—some people would call that hell. I can tell you for sure it means a reincarnation at the very least. And yes, it is part of the game as to whether or not the Christ-figure will destroy your world as it is and board your soul.

The most interesting part is this. I saw it immediately: “There’s no way they have this game on earth.” He says this, because there are very few people that ever understand this lesson or overcome this particular communication issue. You must be blessed for the Divine to show it to you.

It goes like this: You can hit someone, and you’ll get sued. You can kill someone and you’ll go to prison. But if you call someone a fool and you’ll end up in hell. Why? Because the world allows us to do that with impunity. The world allows us to tear one another down and it’s fine, even though it kills our spirit and devolves us all. How we speak to one another is the primary way in which we love one another.


Conclusions:

This is a very complex dream, and I’ve done the best with it I can. I believe, especially given your astrological sign that you may be coming across to people poorly in your communications. Leo’s can be a little haughty at times. Maybe you have a tendency to put others down, even if you don’t really intend it. Maybe it’s just the way you are. But that’s what has to change.

Even if that’s not you at all, search yourself for communication problems you are having with others and remember, that how we talk to one another is the primary way we love one another.

It may not be chance at all that this occurred during your last semester of college. It may be the Divine giving you a final lesson, so to speak, just before you enter the world where you can really use it. Win this game and you win heaven. Because no one wins this game on Earth. No one, it seems even tries to play it. We follow our default fate and never realize it’s following us to sink us. But if you do win the game, there’s real power in the ability that comes with that victory. To be able to put yourself in the shoes of the person who is hearing you speak to them or listen to them is a power that can take a young Leo a very long way in life.

actually i had no other choice but to take the smaller boat. i forgot to mention the boat was on the shore when i found it. the larger boat had already left, and i figured i could go alone in the smaller boat before i noticed the water was getting too rough.

Hello Saber,

With all do respect, I am not arguing anything you are telling me, but I have to say that after an interpretation, it really doesn't mean much if you come back and add things and change details. Because the dictation of the dream, or how the dream is reported to the interpreter is actually part of the message.

I wasn't sure of my conclusion until I read your response here, but now I find I must point out something very important to you, and I'm afraid you may be a little offended by it. I assure you I don't mean to offend you, I only want to point out something I believe your dream was pointing out to you initially:

I made the conclusion that this dream may have to do with how you unwittingly communicate with others, and that Leo's can be a little haughty at times, even when they don't mean to be. You didn't report your ethnicity at first. But in your response you did, you said you were white, but you added that you are from an upper class family. I never asked your social class. But that's what I'm talking about; that's what the dream is talking about: letting everyone know you're from an upper class family when the information isn't relevant or even asked for--that's very much like a Leo; it's a little haughty.

Our communication with others is the primary way in which we love one another. It's true we can hurt someone with a gun or a club, but we go about hurting people all day long with our words and never give it a second thought. Loving our neighbor increases our spirituality because it unifies us with them. Anything that unifies is love. Anything that separates is hate. God is a unity--the monistic Divine of which we are all just modalities. As we unify with each other we more accurately reflect the Divine to Himself, which is the only reason we exist in the first place. So communication can be love, love unifies, unification reflects the glory of the Divine to Himself, and the more we do that, the greater is our spirituality...Whew...(At least I think that's how it goes.)

And that's a whole lot more personal theology than I wanted to get into with a dream interpretation, but that's how I believe communication affects our spirituality. Nevertheless, my goal in this interpretation is not to preach to you my brand of morality of religious beliefs. My goal is to try to find the message in the symbols of your dream. And honestly, Saber, I think the message has been revealed.
