      Gypsy Girl--interpretation?

When I was 14ish I had a dream that I made love to a gypsy girl beneath a gypsy wagon, away from the noise of the bonfire. For years I was vaguely in love with that girl who never existed, and maybe I still am. My memory was jogged by this lyric from the Decemberists' song Shiny

      A tawny gypsy girl
      sleeping blanketed by stars

the song I've been playing several times each day since a cramped, fumbling, anticlimactic sexual encounter on Tuesday night, which nevertheless has left an impression.

Does anyone have an interpretation for the gypsy girl dream, which has stayed with me for fifteenish years now? It has a symbolic resonance that suggests to me I might not be the only one with this dream.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

Tramp - This is the real freedom-lover, the wanderer, the gypsy. He owes no allegiance to anyone and is interested only in what lies around the next corner. He owes loyalty to no one but himself and is often seen as the pleasure-seeker. (The Power of Creative Dreaming, Pamela Ball)

From the definition I would say that you might feel trapped or now allowed to express youself in one of your waking relationships. That could be either: unhappy marriage, overbearing boss...

I would say that you are extreeemely passionate and are looking for the woman who will complete you, your best friend and lover. The only thing your dream has shown you is the passion that can exist when you find 'the woman of your dreams'. im not an expert dream interpriter or anything, but to me thats how your dream sounds.
