What does death mean??/

I had a dream the other night./
I was in my bedroom and my mother came in, and said to me.
'Chris, was out last night, yeah'?
I said 'Yeah', Then she said 'Chris is dead, he was stabbed last night'
He was out in a town away from us, and he was walking to my cousins..

What does this mean?
Can anyone help?

Well I would think a bit more background info might be needed... first.. is leaving home from where you live and walking anywhere considered unsafe? or not something you would normally do?
The reason I ask this is because when I was younger and would ride my bike home from a friends house around there was this fear of being away from the safety and security of home especially if it was somewhat dark or evening time. You may not want to travel from the safety your home alone just yet, (just simply guessing here) so when Chris ventured out to meet up with his cousins something tragic happened.. I'm not sure I would read more into this dream than just a random dream..

But just another way of looking at it i guess..
