Hey there. Been a long time since I last posted here. I had an experience last week that shook me a little bit. Right before drifting off to sleep, I had a flash of memories in rapid-fire overlap. The whole thing only lasted a few seconds, but in those seconds I remembered hundreds if not thousands of my dreams all at once. The memories were exclusively of old dreams, nothing irl. Dream locations, characters, powers, feelings, general experiences, even tastes and smells. It reminded me of people/media talking about having your life flash before your eyes. I sat up immediately and checked my blood sugars (Type one Diabetic), to make sure I wasn't actually dying, but I was fine. My heart was racing, and I can only equate the experience to something like a micro panic attack. It wasn't necessarily uncomfortable, but I also don't know what caused it. My suspicion about a panic attack relates to the sudden occurrence, but it only lasted a few seconds and didn't linger. I have a lot of big, life-changing events going on right now too, which led me to think it was a stress response. Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? I saw a Reddit post where people had, but they did not know what it was either. Any input or theories would be appreciated, my therapist was stumped as well. Thank you! |
