I would not worry about holding up plans. If you are not superstitious, the superstition cannot hurt you. A dream cannot mess with your plans, unless you let it.
Sometimes when I have a dream that is like watching a movie, I have a sense that it is like a movie, my mind's entertainment. It may be just based on something seen the other day or maybe based on a movie or something heard on the radio, so my mind makes a movie out of it, and shows it to me on my DreamTube. The nice thing about such dream entertainment is that it is absolutely free of charge and has unlimited bandwidth. Sometimes when I do not feel emotions in a dream, sometimes that means that dream does not really matter.
On the other hand, other times I don't feel emotions in a dream because I feel it matters too much. It's as if my mind is protecting me from emotion overload, and so it is showing me the dream as a movie instead of forcing me to be part of this dream. In those cases though I usually realize this upon waking up: I know that this dream is important. Sometimes dreams are not what they seem. Some of my dreams are metaphorical. For example: if lizards disgust you, and yet you were holding one and it was biting you, is there something nagging you in real life that disgusts you?
If I were you I would ask myself carefully whether your intuition is telling you whether this dream means very little or very much. If it feels like it means very little, then don't worry about it. Only pursue its meaning if you have a nagging feeling that this dream matters to you.
