Woman I'm Intrested Wearing a Zebra Pattern Dress

This woman is a person I've been interested in for awhile. She is sort of my High School crush, but I've got to know her better in college. We were interested in each other back then but things kept coming up that prevented any sort of relationship. We lost contact several years ago when we went separate ways, but I'll finally be seeing her perform on the weekend. Her mom told her to invite me. I found this out today, but I had this dream last night. (4/14/2013)

I was already with this woman as we where walking down a sidewalk street next to a building. We then stopped in front of this building. The street seemed to be part of a large city, and the building looked like it was a sort of city-hall type deal. The sky was bright and blue with white puffy clouds. Even though I could see these things, I was more so in her embrace; she was in a close-up to my perspective. She was wearing a black and white dress in a Zebra pattern, and the dress had thick spaghetti straps so I could see her arms. She was wearing a straw sun hat that was an off-white - almost a light tan. It was large and covered her head, but I could see her eyes. She was happy to be holding me, and we acted as if we were a couple (small talk, laughing, kissing, and hugging). I felt happy and at ease throughout the dream. Then I woke up.

You stopped maybe in front of what you saw you might build with her, in the main part of your life or of your public life.
City Hall: 1.The administration building of a municipal government.
So this may be you administering what governs you, regarding her. Has she governed your thoughts?
Or the governing part of you is administering this meeting with her. Maybe you needed to go to the top level of yourself to pass this decision. It wasn't just automatic. But maybe that reflects the past's preventions.
Or perhaps it seems official, after so long.
But simply, I'm may be wrong in all that complication, or partly, and overall it might just mean it's your highest level this action involves. It's a top decision.

Your mind was bright with positive thoughts, I think, thinking of her being close to you.
Her dress may symbolise that she has crossed over to you, or you are crossing with her, in a transition. As you were already walking with her down a sidewalk.
Unless it means she is now camoflauged to you, lol.
Or you see her in black & white - one way or the other with no shades of gray.
Or you see her as colorless.
So none of those fit and are out the way I'd say.
Was it a plain stripe, not organic and streaky like the animal?
Then it's more like a zebra crossing.

I'm sure that you could see her arms is meaningful too. Perhaps more than she is now being revealed more to you, but maybe that her holding of you is, as you were embracing. But then, most dresses seem armless. Maybe now she seems armless to you. That was a joke, not a meaning, lol.
Her sun hat, being off-shite is not quite positive, almost a bit dirty, might mean you think she is keeping the sun or light off of your thought of her. Or shows the large doubt perhaps of your success with her.

But who cares. You could see her, and she was seeing you, and you were happy and relaxed to be with her, to have this relationship go further.
But perhaps the hat just means it's the beginning. It can't become fully lit or sunny at once, if it means that.

City hall is where marriage licenses are issued. Could part of you be speculating whether she could possibly wind up being the one? Of course it is still too early to tell - you don't know each other well enough in real life. But in your dream you already knew each other better. Maybe this dream is a wishful thinking dream, wishing for a deep loving relationship that may even lead to marriage?

Your paying attention to what she is wearing is a good sign I think: it may mean that you are willing to pay attention to details about her. Be careful not to just pay attention to superficial stuff like clothes though, that could be a sign that you are not really paying enough attention after all to things that matter - focusing too much on stuff like clothing.

Clothing usually matters more early in a relationship when one wonders over what to wear on that hot first date. But clothing also matters on special occasions - like when getting married. However once a relationship is established, clothing is not usually that important for many people - although for some it is (clothes are way more important to my mother than to me, so maybe I am biased, and I bet my mother would look at this differently than me).

Black and white clothes makes me think of a more formal occasion - there are some parties which are formal where people are expected to only wear black and white. The straw sunhat though makes it a bit less formal more casual I think. It still sounds like overall she was wearing fine clothing, very nice, dressed up.

So there you are in your dream with a woman you are attracted to, who is dressed up (for you? To impress you maybe) in front of a place that could offer a marriage license someday. It's a beautiful day. You are happy.

I think it is a wishful thinking dream. As usual if any of this does not seem right to you (for example if the idea of city hall with marriage potential does not appeal to you), please discard it. I am a strong believer in the dreamer him- or herself knowing best what a dream can mean.

Superman1, I agree with your interpretation that I needed to use my executive thought process to evaluate my feelings for her. One of my goals for seeing her yesterday was to see if my feelings for her is justified. JoannaB you are also correct that I used to think she was "the one" because of certain signs I noticed about her before I met her, prophetic dreams in my High School years you could say. The crossing over mentioned by super makes sense because seeing her yesterday allowed me to transition from having feelings for her to advancing our friendship. She has already met someone important to her, and I've always wanted her to be happy. Overall, I think joanna makes a good point the dream has roots in wishful dreaming, but it seemed to have some prophetic meaning too. Depending on how the dream went compared to last night it could go either way, and I do have the tendency to think in riddles and am prone to prophetic dreams. Hindsight is 20/20 after all. I have a few thoughts to add about this dream. The dream stage or setting is a "sidewalk".....a Sidewalk in the dream could say that you are being a bit distracted or side stepped from your main path. Like a temporary way of moving through life. The others offered great insights on the city hall and the state of mind, clear blue sky. Clothing in a dream represents one's personality...it's changeable and it shows how one presents themselves to the public, for others to see. The fact that she was wearing a black and white striped dress could say that there are two sides to this woman and you need to be aware of it. She is part light and part dark, stripes suggest changeability. This could be something such as she can be moody or very emotional, but has two sides. Wearing a tan hat....The hat is covering her head or "mind" and it is tan. Beige tan is the color of indecision. Many people paint rooms beige because they are afraid of making the wrong choice. So my take on the dream is to be watchful to see if she remains an "even" type personality or if she sometimes seems fickle or indecisive.

I see your point, travelight27, and I think what you might been interested in is that she sort of has two sides to her. She has an extremely excitable and personable side to her, but at times can be deep and thoughtful of others in a sincere way. I'm not sure if I'm off my path as far as my calling, but I had to go out of my way to see her, and also we hung out on the city streets that night after her show. Also, the color of indecision makes sense because I've always felt like she has feelings for me(I could tell through body language), but she doesn't want to have them, if that makes sense. We have that chemistry thing going, but something is always preventing anything from happening. Thank you for your interpretation, I think the best thing for me is to just be good friends and see who else is out there.

Yes of course. Black and white can mean that too. I did miss one - the obvious.
Now I know why. I have never seen stripes before. Only white with bits of black, etc.
But I would only have thought maybe the dreamer is half positive, half negative, about the outcome with her, as is natural in beginnings, or your uncetainty from the past.
I thought my zebra crossing idea was almost ridiculous, ha - but was the only one I came up with. But then again I don't. I'm in two sides about it and keep changing.

Can that just mean your thought of her is 'covered up' - meaning the outcome? But you saw her eyes. Kind of fits with what I said about the sunny light or your 'seeing' staying off her head.
That's my view anyway.

Well superman, I wouldn't call myself a beginner in relationships, but not to sound cliche but shes just stands out to me more than any other girl I've met. Like that weird "I've always know her and feel a bond with her" type thing. Never really felt negative about her either, I was quite excited to see her and only think the best of her. However, with all the data and interpretations I received it helped guide me to what the dream really means to me. Thank you for your input.

I just meant beginning with her, warriorof. And any uncertainty is just to do with you and this lady being together, or how it will work out. I had no doubt about how you feel about her.
And not that you feel negative toward her at all. No. Just that maybe you are in two minds about the certainty of anything happening with her, but not her herself. And black can just mean unseen too. The dark areas.
By your uncetainty from the past I meant only how it didn't happen with her for so long.
