A dream i had a long time ago.

I was like 8 or 9 when i had this dream...

I was laying in my bed, and it was surrounded by flames. There was a man in a really dark armor with a sword standing at the foot of my bed. He looked straight at me, then looked up to the sky. I could see through my roof and saw the moon with an unusually bright star beside it. I looked back at the man, and he said "The Prophecy is nigh"

I woke up really scared. I felt as if the dream wasn't finished. Like I missed something else in it. The next night, i had the same exact dream, but there was more to it.

After he said the prophecy is nigh, i was at his feet, on my knees crying. I looked up and he started to swing his sword at me.

      Then it ended.

I didn't sleep in my room for almost a month. I couldn't even be in my room for longer than a few minutes because i always felt very uncomfortable when i was there.

Any ideas as to what this could mean?

How scary for a little kid! I had a similar dream when I was the same age! Only it was Satan at the foot of my bed and Jesus was beside my bed and I had to choose which one! How do
These things get into the mind of a little child? It is possible you had recently watched a TV show or movie with a knight or that said the phrase "the prophesy is nigh" and it was retained in your subconscious. A sword in a dream is typically a symbol for strength. Since it appeared the sword was being used against you, you may have had some fear or insecurity at that time about your strength. Either you were a big kid and everyone thought you were tough and you were afraid to be proved wrong or to come up against someone who could overshadow your strength OR maybe you felt you were scrawny and not strong enough or afraid of being bullied. The knight signifies security or protection. He never actually injured you with the sword so maybe you were intimidated by someone in your life who was supposed to be a protector. Someone who used fear to gain your respect? Belittled your strength? Made you feel inferior? Even if it was for just one day, it caused the dream. The moon represents your changing moods or a secret you are holding in. You loved/respected this "knight" and they intimidated you and now you feeling differently towards them. They hurt your feelings. You were a kid so it could have been as simple as your buddy took your favorite toy. Or maybe a sports hero ruined the game? A "prophecy" may indicate the future. You were worried about how your feelings/relationship will change. So these are my guesses. It's obviously important if you've remembered it all these years. Good luck in solving your mystery.
